DirectX 12

It's obvious why they are getting flustered, AMD do not support from what we know dx12 on as many previous generations as Nvidia. For some strange reason they feel the need to defend AMD by trashing Nvidia for this.

No I feel the need to defend a smart move from AMD not to support GPU line up that wouldn't have a good enough experience running a DX12 game.

What is the point? Lets support a HD 4950 but good look running BF6 in DX12 lol

Didn't even consider that. Damn people aren't really this petty are they?

Most of us here will upgrade each gen at some point anyway. A petty mind is a small one..

Another point
They is a lot gamers out there that already find it hard to pick a new GPU. Will this one be ok, or will this one run this game etc you hear it all the time.

All Nvidia is doing is making the choice harder on some buyers "O cool a GTX4 it has DX12 this must run the latest and greatest"

Agreed, once ATi/Nvida were fully up and running with OpenGL and later Direct3D developers were quick to drop Glide as 3DFX could use OpenGL too so it was just wasted development. Likewise I can see the same happening to Mantle once DX12 is firing on all cylinders as AMD/Nvidia can both use it so why would anyone waste the extra time, unless AMD have cash on the table.

Because it will offer better performance, so any Dev wanting more can use Mantle. The Devs that already support Mantle dont need to pay anything they already have it in there game engines.

Making a new game now will be easier than before once DX12 and Mantle is running.

Take Crysis 4 DX12 to Mantle low cost and low time frame vice versa, then ported to PS4, Xbox one will already use DX12 so they already removed the Old API.

Well, in that case, these generalized "game developers" you speak of can't make such a statement either given that they haven't even used D3D12 yet (it's not even been released to game developers for early testing use AFAIK).

They can because DX12 is Mantle lol just not as low level. Because DX12 needs to take into account for AMD/Nvidia GPUs it cant possibly give the same performance like something designed for one Architecture like Graphics Core Next

Devs talked about this couple weeks ago and am sure Humbug will find it.

Yer, that is what I plan to do tonight after work. I have a spare 60GB SSD I will use for W10 and have a little play. Not expecting too much this early on but it will be good to get a feel of it.

Yeah my worry is just compatibility for use as my main OS. I understand Avast don't yet work and I stand by Avast a lot.
Driver not an issue as its more Windows 8 re-skin with tweaks i would say. AMD driver 14.9 comes pre-installed.

So I think its just security stopping me, and the what if this dont work etc.
