The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

DirectX and OpenGL will start offering low-level access in order to reduce draw overhead

It will be another rambling sound demo ;)

All lol's, thanks guys! :D

Its the new top end cards ,, 290's were just a stopgap (now midrange) card to go against 780's and this new gen of cards will go against Maxwell....
Well i can hope cant i :)

Good stuff and looks like great times for us computer gamers, regardless of Red or Green coloured being in our machines.

Agreed, lot's going on in the PC gaming space, competition is brilliant. Lot's of new hardware / software coming in next couple years.. PC isn't quite as dead as the gadget show would like us all to believe :p

Fixed that for ya Boom.;)

Indeed, good times ahead.

Indeed. :) All Mantle developers helping MS develop DX12, or so it seems.

:D Amd and Microsoft partnership confirmed?

In this session AMDs Dave Oldcorn, Frostbite technical Director Johan Andersson and Oxides Dan Baker will look at how new Direct3D advancements enhance efficiency and enable fully-threaded building of command buffers. They will demonstrate how AMD is using its recent experience in efficient graphics API design and its partnership with Microsoft to provide developers with the infrastructure to render next-generation graphics workloads at full performance. This presentation also discusses the best ways to exploit AMD hardware under heavy load and will invite developers to influence driver and hardware development.

As I said in, what, November? MS posted a blog post saying that they were going to be integrating "lessons" from Xbox in to the windows Dx, so yes, having been pushed, MS are just integrating mantle in to DX, which is fine by me, as it gives all hardware vendors equal access

Is MS integrating mantle in DX Or is Mantle simply a integration of what consoles already use into windows?
Since they have already been closer to the metal so to speak?

It'll be foundation talks for pushing Mantle feature sets within DX

Mantles progress isn't anything but a good thing, but that doesn't mean I have to agree or believe everything AMD tells me ;). I think they know they're on a good run just how things are right now, and for the foreseeable future. Hallock has said on a few occasions that they're perfectly ok with somebody else taking the helm (referring to alternative API) If I'm wrong I'm wrong, I'll just have to live with it :D

I'll accept donations or gift baskets, no grovelling apologies

I think apologies are in order for those that jumped on the mantle was "dead on arrival" bandwagon.

Most people were positive about it. Definitely good for PC gamers moving forward though!

You mean one post out of a bunch, in which your driving argument is that AMD wouldn't release a Mantle SDK, and you've also been vocal about AMD not passing it off.

Presuming Mantle gets integrated into DX12, which you are but we've seen no proof of at all, would suggest AMD being happy to relinquish control and if a DX12 SDK was publicly released and it included Mantle, then you'd be proven wrong, not right.

Your quote also says specifically letting someone else lead the way with an alternative API, not the same one renamed.

Mantle being incorporated into DX12(something I still see absolutely no evidence of), doesn't spell the end of Mantle. When was the last time you say DX12 on Linux, or Android, or OSX? If Mantle became the defacto coded for API(under a new name) on windows, this would only strengthen Mantle and reduce the amount of work required to port games to other platforms, if, and only if, Mantle was available for other platforms.

No pleasing some people.

I said pushing feature sets, they're not pushing it off on anyone. It will however signify the start of gradual integration. We all know where that goes with anything Microsoft. It wasn't my driving argument, it's simply what you and SteamPunk decided to pick up on, because it was easy to do so as you'd read on the internet somewhere. Let's not start again shall we? You can call me out (again) later on if you really want to. But you won't, because there won't be a public Mantle SDK. ;)
