Dirt Rally 2.0

Just an idea for those too tight for a handbrake like me - I use 4th gear on my logitech gearstick for my handbrake on rally games and paddle shift for gears and works hood enough. Granted no spring back mind so gotta push it out of gear to disengage.

This cheap mod will give you spring back on the stick :

Just need a couple of hex bolts & a large rubber o-ring.

Well my birthday is coming up so will leave hints for one of these> Thrustmaster TH8RS Shifter for PS3 and PC comes with a Sequential adapter plate.

Whats imporant is you can use it as a analog handbrake> TH8A/RS handbrake adapter plate which costs very little, or make your own.

Disable HDR to prevent annoying dimness in game!

Found this mod to fix the annoying light dimming up and down due to ambient light/headlights... This is called HDR used in games!

This is how:
Go to your my documents folder
Go into saved games/ my games folder
Find dirt rally 2.0 folder
go into hardwaresettings
with notepad or other text editor, open up
hardware_settings_config.xml
Find and then replace this value:
<hdr level="1.0" />
with
<hdr level="0.1" />

Hit save and you will no longer have annoying darkness/brightness switching!

Thanks to Racedepartment member robnitro.

Even though i recommended using my gear stick as a handbrakw ive been struggling if i crash or entering corners droppping down several gears and resorted back to the H pattern. I've changed my right flappy paddle to my handbrake and what a difference that makes. I can drop it down several gears quickly and handbrake properly round corners now!

I hope they’ve improved the lower right interior of the Skoda, interior was stunning but had a really low quality texture which stood out like a sore thumb.

Take a look at the SHH Hawk shifter as an alternative. It can easily switch between manual & sequential and is well regarded ( and cheaper )

I just got my first decent result in an AI daily event where I was placed 29th using the RWD Mk2 Escort, After giving myself a high five and doing a little victory dance I got back to the game to find that my 29th place was out of 30. :rolleyes: Oh well, there's always tomorrow. :D

Gradual improvement is improvement nonetheless :)

you play two ways. you gradually build up slowly getting quicker. or .. you push from the start crashing a lot but learning what you can get away with. just try and be clean and get the right lines. really helps with your times. smashed another WR yesterday in australia. was gunna play today but its so nice and sunny. :D
