DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

So now we've had a little bit of practise, the next 4 weeks of the Restarters Leagues will be hill climb!

I'm getting married & going on my honeymoon the next couple of weeks, so i've set up 4 weeks events, Stage 1, 2 and 3 of the Tarmac Hill Climb, & a full run of the mixed surface variant to tide us over till i get back.

There are no vehicle restrictions so take what you want of the available choices, and have fun!

so once you start a new event the previous results disappear? how do we know were we finished in the last one?

going to give this a good hammering today.had a break off it last few days doing recording so now to try out some new cars on my fav wales tracks.

find a car you like first. just practice learn tracks.manual box will be quicker once you master it.

Its not the manual box thats the problem, its the speed at which you can change with the clutch. If you change quickly it grinds like in real life, so it feels like its a lot slower with the h shifter compared to sequential.

Ill just put up with it, make`s the game more of a challenge.

jumped on pant mawr with the lancia intergrale. pulled this nice time

think it is top ten in world but cant see my position :p

Well got to say really pleased with Dirt, my dad actually spannered for one of a firms company managers who raced mini's and was the first one's in the North East to race a Anglia with a jag engine in it raced at Croft.

But the best thing was me dad bought a second hand mini Cooper S and replaced the stockhead with a reworked one[tuned] livery was the classic britsh racing green, white roof and alloys for the road.

So far quite impressed, for an "early access" title, seems to be quite advanced.

My only real concern is that all the stages I've encountered so far are, well, a bit samey. All around the same short length and nothing to test the endurance like the 20+ mile of the Pundershaw or Kershope stages in Rally Championship of old. That still gives it more of an arcade feel than a full simulation. Have yet to join the official forum so not sure if that point has been made or addressed by the developers.

some people have said similar things with time/length of tracks.

what you must remember is in the championships as you progress it gets harder and harder. also tracks are longer.

often tracks are combined into one track. so say masters you get 12 tracks which very fast ai. so its a challenge you gradually build upto.

also we must remember more stages and rally events are being entered.
