DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

This is hard god damn work, I spend nearly 2 hours doing one stage in the Escort, about ready to put my foot through the computer, and then bang I put a time in 4 second faster than the others, over the moon, you forget all about the misery and continue to the next stage, rinse and repeat. This game is torturous.

Enjoying it more than Project cars though, that was annoying for no reason or fault of your own, you would use a run off strip on one lap fine, go near it on the next lap spin off and loose 10 places.

little tip on the escort put the differential to strongest setting.i often use long gears. makes it a lot better to drive.

nice to see when people get this game  so brutal but when you get it right you feel like a champion :D

im lvling the fiat 131 abarth today :) . must say im enjoying it. nice car to drive.

Anyone think this is worth getting as I am really considering biting the bullet and buying it, I have about £40-50 in my steam, and was curious what games others are buying?

i think its still on offer in steam. snap it up. bargin. £18.74

Think I may like, sounds like a really good deal especially with the MP coming etc, however its will I play it enough to justify spending the £18 off my steam money as I will be selling my AWP hyper beast FT (CS:GO skin) in order to purchase it...?

well that only you know. it will go upto 25 quid in a few days and once all the new content is in you wont get it for that price for a yr or more.

end of this month you have germany tracks, new cars.

next month rally cross

month after that mp

and so on.

I'm okay with the wheel the only thing I absolutely cannot do now is hairpins. I'm not really sure what button to map the handbrake too currently I have it mapped to a button on the wheel and it just feels horrible pressing a button on the wheel whilst whipping the wheel around, my only other option is to put it on this H-Shifter. Hmmmm

well you could get a joystick and use that as a handbrake. or you can use the gear shifter which most do. you have to use your handbrake !

you can buy separate hand brakes but they are expensive.

did a run in the fiat abarth man i love it !

Finally found a car with the wheel that I feel feels the way it should. And it was a car I absolutely hated with the controller. Cosworth RS500. Everything feels right, although you have to rev the nuts off this car to get it to move. Second you red line it in most cars you shift up, in the cosworth you have to stay there for a bit longer otherwise you enter the next gear too slow, looks like it gets all it's power at its highest RPM.

It's the first car since getting the wheel that I feel like I can push it in. Every other one I have had to drive like a bitch to get it to stay on the track.

turbo doesn't really do anything until 4,500rpm in that car same as real life

What do people think of this game then? I understand it's a work in progress but I'm so tempted to pick this up. I'm sure I read that they are adding multiplayer is that correct and if so how will it work? Does it have a snow stages at all yet? If not are any planned?

next is germany 1-2 weeks. then rallycross.then mp.finland.sweden. and so on.

buy it now before it goes up. £18 on steam.
