Dirt Rally is amazing : Try it if you are after a new VR game

Got it on sale and i do love it however does anyone else struggle to see distances? I turned SS upto 1.8 but didnt help much :c
Just makes me appreciate the chap sitting beside me. "Left 5 over crest, don't cut, opens into left 6" and so on. Seeing is overrated.

I love this game in vr but with the (rift) headset on I'm struggling, with the handbrake as I cant find a button to map for it or even see it, if I don't use the handbrake I'm just too slow, anyone else have this problem and if so how do you get around it?

Bought it on whim as it’s only £7.99 on steam, wasn’t expecting to much in the way of VR support (despite the thread) nor was I expecting too much from the game as I don’t usually go for rally games.
What an absolute treat I was in for! When you put the headset on and you sat in a grey room with the screen in front of you I thought ‘really, is this it?’ But then game starts and your in the drivers seat, it blew me away! Crashed many times just staring out the windows at the scenery haha
I can see this being quite the time killer over the next few months

The virtual screen is an ideal solution for navigating the menus etc. Project Cars 2 uses the same method.
It's a very immersive game, apart from when you look behind you and realise only the front part of the car is actually rendered.:p

I attempted a particularly lengthy stage in Wales in the pouring rain and managed to complete it without going off course!

Only had my Rift a week (Bought off Misschief - Top Bloke) and after reading this thread thought I'd give it a blast as I already had it in my Steam collection. WOW absolutlely brilliant in VR. I aint got a wheel yet.....seriously thinking about it as being mainly into FPS I was never a racing kind of guy. This may just have changed that. Ok, i spent most of the time either on my roof or in the trees but blimey this is awesome. Rolled the car a few times and thought that I was completely immune to the so called 'VR Motion Sickness' that everyone seems to get.....I thought "Fantastic, I dont even feel sick like others do"....then a few minutes later I got all cold n clammy and started to feel quite ill. Took off the HMD and handed it to my son and said..."It's brilliant but I need a lie down for a bit". Oh well, so much for my VR Legs....guess I'm in the same boat as everyone else. :D

Just bought this in the Steam sale and it is so much fun to play. I find it a bit easier inVR (had it on xbox one previously) as l can judge the corners annd speeds easier.
The only problem I have is that I have to stand up to play, otherwise I am down by the pedals. Is there anyway to adjust this in the game so I can sit on a chair , or do l need to do it in the Oculus settings?

I press the right hand Rift controller menu button and then reset view in app. I'm sure it's the second option down on the right hand side.

Thanks String. I didn't know that was an option. I was just picking up the Xbox controller and using that, as sadly, I don't have a steering wheel. Would love a forced feedback one, but they seem quite expensive.

Wait until Black Friday, you can usually find somewhere selling the G29/G920 for around £150 ish. Very good wheel at that price point!

That's a good point, cheers. I want to get Project Cars 2 as Well so that might justify it. Are there any other racing games you would recommend? Preferably VR.

You can bind "reset camera view" to a button on your wheel or pad. I had it on right-stick press.
