Why it's a private individual?

You can pay a scholarship to your kid or your neighbour or that lqd who once helped you change a tyre.

You'd have a point if this was the government but its not.


Right now this fay you can do exactly what he did.

But you don't want to give away 30k

Sure you can fund anyone you want privately, but the point of a grant being made available to the public to apply for is different. Even if its being offered by a private individual, the fund is now public, as well as the additional funding that banks are offering on top.

Suppose I want someone to clean my flat once a week, I put an advert in the paper- "Cleaner wanted, whites only" or "Cleaner wanted, Asians only" - I'm just spending my money how I want to right? Would you think that's fine, morally, too?

I have provided articles with local councils devoting funds specifically for BAME groups. This is clearly racist.

Colleges have rejected funding for white only students.

And by their own funding we mean either tax payers money or the tuition income from other students to subsidise them.

Because you commented in the thread re: people whinging that people spend their money how they want when it came to racial discrimination, ergo I was wondering if you'd apply the same lack of care in another context of an individual spending their money.

So you're fine with an individual doing it, what about an individual with several employees? Perhaps a small business owner? Or what about a company? Is that acceptable too in your opinion?

If not, then at what point in say the context of employment does racial discrimination become unacceptable?

Its been said that the people receiving this scholarship have already been accepted to Cambridge but i don't believe it personally as it would not make any sense, student loans company will lend you the money needed 100% if you are accepted.

You can simply skip all this nonsense, and simply find 30 black people and give them £40,000 each, or whatever amount. And thats it, as all you are doing if the above is true, is giving them money so they wont have a student loan.

Keeping in mind a student loan is not a normal loan, if you dont earn over £26k or so right now you pay back exactly nothing. Normally people will say don't take loans etc, but to me a student loan is a entirely separate matter, i would say, always take the student loan, even if you dont need it.

The way a scholarship in my mind works, lets say i am rich, i have various meetings with the university, create my scholarship program, say 10 spaces this year.

That means then, i decide who will take those spaces, whoever the hell i want.

Have you not followed the cash for college thing in the news recently? Jail time has been handed out.
