Dishonored 2

Never played the first game but thinking about it now. Has the original already been a daily / flash deal? If the GOTY edition was more than 40% off I'd pick it up.

You can get GOTY for £11 which includes all the DLC (which are still retailing at over £5, even in the sale!)

As someone else said earlier in this thread, I too started playing this game immediately after completing it as there are so many variables in game play and outcomes are definitely impacted depending on how you play, e.g. you can get away with not killing anyone (well actually one person) which changes the ending hugely. I think I'm the third or fourth time around on this and still hasn't lost it's appeal.

This was definitely not my sort of game when I bought it on a whim, particularly as there is no multiplayer online option but after playing this for a few minutes I was reminded as to how good single player games used to be, and could be, plus Bethesda have been churning out some brilliant games over the past few years.

In short - buy it!

Trailers always looked good for dishonoured, will they be using the same art style for gameplay though?

Actual ingame art style/quality has usually been fairly close to the trailers - not quite as shiny or as detailed light quality but otherwise fairly close and I'm assuming they'll be using some variant of UE4 this time which will help to make it closer to the trailer quality.

Yayyyyyyyyy, if it's like the first, I'll buy after seeing positive reviews!

Annoyingly, never did get round to finishing the first.

Lets hope it's better than the truly average first game. I know everyone likes different things but I'm gob smacked it got such rave reviews. It did nothing particularly knew or extremely well.

It did a lot of things very well - it was easy to just get into the game without a lot of unnecessary complications so beloved of too many games these days, control and movement implementations were good (aside from the sprint/crouch/slide thing that was a bit iffy) it was set in compelling game world that was unique enough in its own rights even if it drew heavily from familiar games (which isn't really a bad thing).

I think that is a lot of the reason it got rave reviews as it was familiar enough you could just drop in and play it but different enough it could hold your attention - even if it was average or not totally new in some areas.

I love the first game so much, beautiful blend of atmosphere and gameplay.
Knowing Harvey is working on this with his team makes me happy, really cannot wait. And great decision to have both Emily and Corvo playable. I did not expect that but I love it.

Originally they weren't going to but I think they ended up agreeing with an earlier poster that people tend to like some crossover of characters especially the protagonist.

Kind of hope you can import data from an old save - would give me a reason to play through the original again before starting on the new one.

Totally agree. Glad I'm not the only one as I've been debating this with a couple of mates who beg to differ but I really didn't like the first game. It was extremely dull and bland. In fact I even preferred Thief, and that was very average.

Just did nothing exciting and couldn't hold my attention. I gave up after about 6 hours. Actually amazed I played for that long.
