Well I sold my RMA'd 3870 for around £90 so got myself an 8800GT for £100 delivered!

Basically upped my monitor to 22" and quite fancied a bit more power, though it is similar to the 3870 I know the performance with AA on etc is that bit better. Plus you know me, my graphics card use list reads like a who's who of the graphics world
I'm pretty disappointed the core cant clock really over 50Mhz stable as well mate but meh, thats just my luck. Also got rid of the overly noisy fan on the card and just stuck my Zalman VF900 in place so the temps stay nice and cool
I've edited the bios to put 1.1V through the card in the hope I could push a bit more out of it but unfortunately thusfar it would appear not to be the case. This has been attempted on Vista however so I'll give it a go on XP again and see if there is any change. Just think I got a duff core in the OC stakes however!
