Well, unless you're playing DOOM or something similar, yes, you do get close enough.Probably non. It definitely feels that things have gotten a lot slower progression wise for better visuals. I remember going from FF7 to FF8 then newer games like skyrim then to the like of the latest tomb raider games. Or the final fantasy movie that was a huge step because of its number of hair strands or something.
Do we really look close enough to characters to see this sort of detail in them? I mean they all look pretty similar when you shoot them in the face and the blood restricts your view of the pores and freckles and the "main character" stage light they seem to get.
I think these type of visuals are impressive but not for gaming, these need to be in VR rather than on a screen IMO.
