Probably non. It definitely feels that things have gotten a lot slower progression wise for better visuals. I remember going from FF7 to FF8 then newer games like skyrim then to the like of the latest tomb raider games. Or the final fantasy movie that was a huge step because of its number of hair strands or something.

Do we really look close enough to characters to see this sort of detail in them? I mean they all look pretty similar when you shoot them in the face and the blood restricts your view of the pores and freckles and the "main character" stage light they seem to get.

I think these type of visuals are impressive but not for gaming, these need to be in VR rather than on a screen IMO.
Well, unless you're playing DOOM or something similar, yes, you do get close enough.

Yea ive decided to try my hand a some games seeing as I haven't played much lately at all. Maybe even the past few years. I've got games like hogwarts, horizon which do seem to be my mos5 demanding games but they take too much time to learn the mechanics again if you only play maybe a once or twice per week with no more than 2 hours each session. Since I played a few MMOs I seem to struggle staying engaged in single player games.

So I bought a game recently god of war and wow I don't know if it is because of my new 5070 but it looks a he'll of alotbetter than I was expecting considering it's an almost port of a near 10 years old game.
