Not to worry, x10 FG incoming :D:cry::km:

Exactly.. It's just another form of gimpware by nvidia and of course 6000 series will have some hardware to speed it up so they can say 6070 faster than 5090 by 2x.

You wait and see and raster native will be the usual 20-30% increase. It's all smelling bad for next generation at this rate and by then they will have DLSS 6 that will have some locked features for 6000 series only.. That's now nvidias games and how to play customers.. :km:

I'm not sure they will even release a 6 series consumer card, unless they can be 100% sure it can't be used in commercial AI applications, as they would be cutting off their own noses.. and they certainly won't do that.. either that or they will just launch at the corporate price points for their business AI cards, and just let gamers save even more money the more they buy :(

Interesting as it runs on tensor cores on RTX cards so I wonder what it's running on on the AMD side, whatever it is the performance hit is even worse - the 9070xt goes from 90fps to 10fps, a 90% performance loss

So yes it "runs" but it's completely unusable for any amd gpu at this stage as you can't play games at 10fps, that's even worse than the RTX5050 gets
watching to see how far they can push it. Its a good project for AI development, the target metric is simple "more FPS=more better" LLMs can work with that (provided there is ample token supply)

DLSS 5 is our most computationally demanding model to date. Since we initially announced it in March, we’ve achieved a 5X performance gain and there’s more to come. Our current focus is on optimizing performance for the GeForce RTX 50 Series with model updates expected later this fall. Once RTX 50 Series performance is more fully tuned, we plan to work on expanding official support to the GeForce RTX 40 Series.

To be fair this is just what follows from Jensen saying at that keynote they were hitting limitations and only AI is going to offer decent gains (instead of brute forcing raster and node shrinks). There is lots left on the table though with optimisations clearly.

Yeah currently it looks this way and worryingly they could apply more shrinkflation to feed the pauper gamer segment.

Thought DLSS 5 is exclusive to RTX 50 but now Nvidia PR confirmed DLSS 5 will supported RTX 40 soon.
And I bet this was only announced because modders got it working and embarrassed them into it. If Nvidia didn’t port this officially to the 4000 series when it has the same hardware to run the current DLSS 5 version, they would have looked like absolute idiots.

Anyone tried with a starwars game, thought maybe kotor 1 and 2. Or the x wing vs tie fighter remake i think fans have done in a newer engine. Or heck star trek bridge commander. :D

Yeh, lets not fix the open issues but..

DLSS 5!
One of the previous drivers had a fix for path of exile 2 bug. I listened to the dev interview, they had to mail an entire computer (pc,monitor, keyboard, and mice) to nvidia so nvidia could reproduce and fix the bug - diabolical.
