DnB thread!

can a mod clarify what the situation with mixcloud is? the site is designed for mixes (obviously of other peoples' tunes) so logically there shouldn't be the same legal issues as with soundcloud.

basically, i'd like to post a mix :)

UKF are annoying... i dislike how they spam out a load of poppy dnb then occasionally put up something that's a bit more underground. stick with the cack so all the douchey 16 year old noobs stay away from my beloved underground stuff :p

You produce as well don't you?

In what sense? Yes, I do mix, DnB has only been a recent addition though so I am more than happy to recieve criticism. But all of my mixes are on dropbox. I was planning on doing one for YouTube tonight. I have attempted to write my own stuff as well, but I don't have the musical knowledge to do so properly. :(

As in produce your own tracks. I've been producing a lot longer than I've been mixing.

Or I could teach you how to use reason. Skype video chat? :D

doubt that shayper; i've used reason for about 12 years now :p

e: out of all the software i've used for production (reason 1,2,4, cubase 2.0, logic 8, ableton [can't remember version] and cubase 5.0 [which i'm using now]), i'd say logic was easily the best. sadly, my mac just can't keep up now and can't justify another 2k+ on one, so just using my gaming pc with cubase and a few plugins. i have to say though, cubase ****es on reason from a very great height, but, reason can be useful if you rewire it into logic/cubase as it basically ignores the woeful audio engine of reason

To be quite honest, I'm not really that into writing music. But I'd be interested in hearing some of what you've done Shayper. Which reminds me, twist3d, you really need to get your butt in gear as you said you needed to finish your tunes off.

Anyway, to get back on track, something I've just picked up:

yeah, it's a bit tricky with the mac atm, as it's really starting to show it's age with the plugins i'm using... gonna be a laborious process of bouncing everything down to audio just so i can play it through ¬_¬

is this mixes of commercial tracks ? if so then not allowed on anything other than youtube

Well, not a great evening. Got the mix done but in the process the crossfader on my controller decided it couldn't tell when it was fully faded, so this is a little rough. But I'm more interested in your opinions on tune choice.
