Do D-SLR's wear out?

A 100 photos a day, every day, for fourteen months? That's some serious shooting.
I shoot documents @ The National Archive, Usually 2000+ a session. so its not "real" photography.

The D60 with kit lens is fantastic for this sort of shoot, highly recommended.
I must admit the "photography bug" has bitten and I recently bought a Nikon 50mm 1.8 & SB600 flash, so I'll be taking more "real" photos.:D

So you don't do it for reproduction like scanning then? I'm sat here doing a load of old newspaper cuttings (scanning) and I wish there was an easier way.....

That makes sense. I don't really get why some people shoot 1000s of photos at once. Just because it's digital and unlimited doesn't mean you have to! I bet they end up discarding most of them anyway when they get them on their PC.

That's not that many, i can shoot 2,000 in 1 day.

jesus thats a lot ive probably not done that many in hte year that ive owned a dslr.
what kind of photography do you do raymond for that many shots.

often cheaper/easier just to buy a new body especially as you also get a newer/better sensor etc. as well.

not that it's just I've got an old SLR that the shutterblocks have worn out on (took it to our local camera place) but they wanted £400 to do it so told them where to go ("It's gonna cost £400....or you could buy this Cannon 450..........................")
was wondering if I could buy the part and do it myself :D

You could, but you know there would be a screw left over :p
