Do graphics really need to be any better than they are right now?

Yes they still have a long way to go. I was amazed by shadow of the beast on the amiga! I also remember being blown away seeing ridge racer on the ps1. I suppose the ultimate aim would be for video realistic games, by which time i imagine most games will be real-life sims of some kind and a lot of genres will start to dissapear in the same way 2d platform games did.

There might come a day when graphic cabapilities are simply not an issue when making games and pretty much anything you can fit on a screen would be possible. If that happens then there wouldn't be any real need for different consoles to exist. You might buy a 'game player' made by anyone like you would buy a DVD player now and then buy games also made by anyone in the same way you would buy a DVD now.

I'd like Anti-Aliasing to be standard, at least 8x on all titles @ 1080p

Better AI is required, it's the one thing I notice more than anything in modern games.

True, theres nothing worse than jaggies. Thats the only thing consoles right now suffer from.. lack of decent AA, or any AA!
