Do people get 3GHz from their E6600s?

E6600 with Geil PC6400 and EVGA 680i board coming, so you are saying I can run up to 400 fsb on the cpu without taking the ram out of spec and still having it 1:1 ??

Unfortunalty I ordered a little before 4 today, which seems too late for delivery tommorow as it still showing Order Status: Printed in our warehouse :(

you all managing to overclock to 3ghz on the stock cooler ?

3ghz should be no problem for the stock cooler as you don't need to touch the vcore.

nice one , any straight forward tips on how I go about doing this ?
I'm using an Asus P5N-E SLi nForce 650 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard.

I take it it's just a case of going into the bios and altering a multiplier or something ?

I would be p*ssed off if I had an e6600 and it didn't hit 3.6GHz (9x400) with a little extra vCore.

The e4300 I just sold was happy to run 3GHz at stock (1.325v) volts and I'm now slowly working on my e6300, ran it at stock for a couple of days then whacked up the FSB to 400MHz (7x400) and its now running at 2.8GHz, still using stock vCore, will leave it for a few more days (busy busy) then work on getting it up to 3.2GHz (7x457), although I would imagine it needs some more juice.

What's the highest (roughly) an e6600 can reach while running on stock voltage? (Orthos stable of course).

Had a few pass through here, between 3Ghz to 3.4Ghz, i think 3.2Ghz is about right for the majority though. All either dual primed or Orthos.

just trying to get it up to 3ghz using the stock cooler and an asus mobo.

got it running ok by just altering the fsb. HOWEVER if Istress the process for a long time say converting a few avi's to dvd, the asus PC probe is reporting a temp of 65deg C at it's max.

I take it based on the warning it was giving me that 65 isn't good or is this about normal for an overclocked one ?

when I drop at all back down to stock and carry out the same test it's maxing out at 54deg c.
