Do people get 3GHz from their E6600s?

I'm new to O/C'ing but got my E6600 to 3400 OK. That's not using the stock cooler...have an Arctic Cooler 7. Idles @ 44 and goes to 57/58 on load.
378mz x 9, Vcore is 1.47v.

Currently testing for lowest vcore at 3.0ghz.....down to 1.192v so far....Gromacs and cpu stress Orthos stable.....will continue going downwards with volts and report back with pics :)

Interesting? look forward to your results :)

Seems like although they take voltage to scale higher up, they need very little lower down the scale.....give yours a go, you may be surprised :)

Mine is L632A......:)
What stepping do you have.....and what vcore does it need for 3.6Ghz?
Nice cpu you have there anyway :)

Well the vdroop probably makes that about 1.375v in Windows.

If it's not Orthos stable atm I would raise the vcore a bit. That should improve things.

Mine runs at 1.4vcore for 3.6Ghz Orthos/Gaming stable.
Best to do the pencil mod. to your boards to stop the vdroop being a factor.

Now looking good so far for 3.0Ghz at 1.184vcore
More pics. to follow over the next few days ;)
I'll check out the undervolting and pop up the 3.6 at 1.4volts after that.

does the lower 6300/6400 and the 6600 overclock higher than 6700 at standard? im a bit new to all this duo core malarky :)
That question can be interpretted in different ways, I take it you mean can the entry level chips overclock to a level which is faster than the 6700 at stock? if so the answer is yes they can!
