Do you answer a call from a withheld number?

Even if the numbers not withheld, my phones pretty much always on silent so I tend to miss the call any way. The joys of being woken at 3-4am a few times from drunken mates...

I do, in 4 years the only withheld number that was a sales call was from my phone company.

Always. I'm terrified about missing out on winning the Gadget Show competition incase I don't answer my phone! I think they'd just move onto the next person if the first didn't answer.

Yes, because our home number is withheld, so if I ignored every call from a blocked number my wife would get very cross.

I find it's normally a recruitment company if it's uknown.

Same, except don't have caller id on home phone. Not something I am happy paying for so just pick up and take the risk. I try to be careful who we give our number out to and I'm on that "don't call" type list thing somewhere.

I answer every call I receive. I don't see why not. If they try to sell me something I just hang up. I have nothing to hide and for all I know it could be someone I know calling me.

I did have a really strange call the other week on my phone from a number in Israel (looked it up online after), it was some bloke with really loud music in the background yelling something.

At first I thought it was someone I know from Sweden so I asked, "Is that you Andreas?" and they hung up.

I later asked him if it was he and he said it wasn't.

Didn't bother me though. Thought it was quite funny to be honest.

Seeing as my home phone comes up withheld I always answer in case it's the mother. Plus where I'm looking for a job a large proportion of companies use withheld numbers so it'd be dumb for me not to answer them.

I never answer withheld numbers on my mobile. Hate getting them sort of calls.
