In answer to the OP - yes, I think there's life everywhere, both basic and more advanced than we are and has been visiting here for countless years, although most of it probably wouldn't care to visit. :)

Disproving something that is based on belief and a complete lack of evidence would be difficult.


Is there life out there? Maybe but the time (our sun's life cycle is a short period of time when looking at the Universe), and distances involved are difficult to comprehend.

Also why would aliens who have developed the capability of covering such vast distances visit us?

Oh and I always look forward to Raoh's contributions and did he not just deliver :D
 
I find it laughable that those who are religious believe in a god but say that extraterrestrial's don't exist :rolleyes: if there is a god or gods they are not of this planet which makes them extraterrestrial !!!
I myself do not believe in the creation stories of god etc ,there are ancient sites all over the world which prove that very advanced civilization's existed and ive visited many including sites like puma punku and many more.There is many stories from the ancient civs that speak of the gods visiting earth from the sky and the only way they could describe such a thing would be to call them gods.

plus the fact that we have evolved more in the last 70 years than in the last 7000 thanks to reverse engineering and all of this since the first claimed crash of a ufo and many more since all over the world,then theres the latest materials on periodic table esp 115 but I could go on and on,on the subject of life from other planets but its impossible to try and get it all across in a post.

Extraterrestrial is usually used for beings of this universe but not from Earth - god(s) are usually talked about as being an entity that resides outside this universe.
 
I cannot believe even for one second that we're an accident and that we're alone. I do believe however the distance between us and the next life is so vast that we may never meet them, even many generations into the future.
 
I think the universe is teaming with life, heck i think the galaxy has loads of life in it. UFO nut jobs are quite fun and some of the videos lists of what they believe are known alien types in our own galaxy which number at least a couple of dozen civilizations, some benevolent some malevolent while others being fairly neutral. It may or may not be complete fantasy but who knows!

As for the reason why they stay away? When they pick up our transmissions of Love Island and Big Brother and you wonder why?

In the context of extraterrestrials such as this topic though people are invariably talking about some form of life that exists within our universe. There is a certain amount of false equivalency between what you are saying in relation to god(s) and the context people are usually talking in.

Who's to say life has to come from a Goldilocks zone type planet.

Life as we personally know it, perhaps. Anything is possible though.

that's a pod like the early days of travel w/ no room to move. resistance exercises help against muscle atrophy.

What complety does my head in is this, does the universe end? if so whats at the end, all things usally come to an end so why not the universe. The more i think about it just totaly does my head in.

The end ? Darkness. After all the stars fuel run out.

Trillions of years away though of course.

I think the last stars will be red and white dwarfs. Which will eventually turn into black dwarfs. Or black holes.

you've kind of missed the point, the point is that with no artificial mavity on the iss, even with daily exercise when that soyuz pod comes down if the astronaut has spent long enough in space he's really weak on earth thanks to the various atrophy processes that happen in constant zero g.

Yes. The universe "ends" if by this you mean does it have a boundary. That boundary is not an edge in Space, but an edge in Time. The Universe has only been expanding for a finite time. Thus the physical matter of it has only expanded so far. But more than this, the dimensions of which it is formed (up and down, forwards and backwards, left and right...) have only expanded so far as well. If you want to ask yourself what exists beyond that edge, then ask yourself what exists beyond the South Pole. Or the North Pole. Or any point on the surface of a Sphere. The universe proscribes the directions in which you can travel. The universe contains the directions in which you can travel. You can no more go beyond them than a being walking along the surface of the Earth can go beyond the Earth. Set off in a space ship and travel forever in any straight line and you will arrive back at where you started because the universe does not allow straight lines. Space-time itself is curved.

And if by the Universe "ends" you simply mean that at some point in time it ceases to be, well then either it all starts to fall back in on itself and we get a Big Crunch, or it just keeps on going and going getting thinner and thinner like the atmosphere as you climb a mountain. Eventually all heat and matter is dispersed and there is nothing but cold and lonely molecules hanging in the void.
