Do you drive auto or manual transmision?

I'm aware manual no doubt gets you better lap times, but
Always played auto, the advantage isn't worth the extra effort for me.

Usually manual but auto on Mario Kart Wii ........8818 points and counting :)
Lol, you do realise that the auto/manual option in Mario Kart has absolutely no relation to transmission? It's for whether or not you want to control when you drift while turning.

As with others, generally Auto if I'm using a pad, but with the MS Wheel, Forza/TDU are defo manual,

Like other say, using manual in games like FM2 can really help your lap times, being able to go up a gear to give smoother drive through some corners is crucial, as is hanging onto some gears, and not changing mid-corner..

Always manual, unless it's a really arcadey game with nitro, i.e. flatout / burnout.

Manual is just plain easier imo. I have no idea what the car is doing in auto and I end up crashing around a lot more. Knowing what gear you need for corners makes it a lot easier to slow down, for me at least. First game I ever used manual in was PGR1. Bit of a learning curve considering I still can't drive a real car, but worth it. My brother tried to convince me to try manual in F1GP, but I was still using auto braking at that point... was only 6 when it came out :D

The hardest car to drive manual has to be the electric car on PGR4 since you just can't hear the engine...

edit: and of course it is absolutely essential for rally games.

Auto.

After passing my test I tried manual thinking I would be better at it... it didn't end well. It also had the side effect of me braking late for corners in real life, until I realised I drive a Clio not an Enzo :D

Switched to manual a couple of years ago, much more enjoyable experience.

When I had my wheel I used manual but with the controller its easier for me to use automatic. Definite advantage with manual though.
