do you indicate at roundabouts?

This frustrates me greatly, it takes half a second to indicate but that half second could save someone a minute on a roundabout. Multiply that by ten million cars by 5 roundabouts a day and that is some serious wasted time.

People who jump the filters on the roundabouts do my head in aswell, I get onto a local motorway roundabout via an unfiltered road and you always miss your slot because someone idiot jumped a red light!

Especially if it causes you to come to a stop.

here is the scenario to a complete wrong scale

happens all the time aswell which is why it stresses me so much , worst thign about it is i cant just fly out infront of them because i take the 3rd exit and its a sharpish turn for me car that handles like cheese

the exits that they take can be took at equalish speeds so its near impossible to tell which way theyre going to go unless they indicate

honestly it happens so much and annoys me so much that id hate to see what i do if i ever caught one of the offenders lol

.....think i need councilling for it

Yup, people who don't indicate at roundabouts during busy periods really gets on my **** as well.

I've got a large, 3 lane, 4 exit roundabout down the road from me and you get idiots exactly how Andy has just illustrated above.

I was taught to always indicate, I do it out of habit. Even when I'm a ped I look/rely on cars indicating for crossing the road. Drivers who don't indicate really grind my gears. I give 'em a filthy glare and a shake of the head but they're unaware of there surrounding anyways, the only thing they look at is the brake lights of the car infront.
Don't get even me started on people opening car doors in moving traffic, one of these days I'll not swerve and take the door off out of spite... ;) :p

Totally agree, the worst come around the roundabout with their indicator still on for 3rd exit and then pull off on the 2nd, that grinds my gears and it shows they have intention to go around to the next exit... so you wait for them.. :o

I'm glad they fail to indicate then as you should never "just fly out in front" of anyone regardless of indication, one day you'll come a cropper cause someone has left there indicator on. Always treat indicators and headlight flashes with caution.

If there's traffic around then I'll indicate. If there's no traffic around I'm far more interested in getting the perfect racing line :D

Was reading the thread just about to post this as no one had mentioned it until the last post :) ...

Indicators are just that : an indication. If some one is indicating, left it does not mean they will turn left, and it is therefore not safe to move out in front of them with that assumption.

If you can't tell where a car is going wait until it is clear. Forget about indicators.

In my defence it was those touch sensitive ones in the astra,i thought i had just knocked it on for the 3 flashes.....clearly not. I knock the stalk hard for goind round a roundabout but pull it back down till the 3 click left engages. These days i pull it right down to signal off and push it back to neutral just to be sure.

god please dont start the astra indicator argument lol

every time ive mentioned it ive been shot down

fully agree with you though

it was those that caused my 1 minor on my test

I always indicate unless it was like tonight when I was the only person around for miles. Then it's a bit daft really, apart from to reassure myself which way I was going :p

all depends ...

if its late at night at its empty .... no

if i am going straight over ...... no

if i need to let other road users know of my intentions .... yes

Same.

I indicate all the time when ever there are other people around, even people on the pavement. There is nothing more annoying than people that don't indicate properly.

I always do it out of habit, it annoys me most at busy times when huge groups of people don't seem to indicate, slowing down rush hour commutes even more, at other times I'll just call them a nob and carry on singing along to my music.

What are people's thoughts at the opposite end of the spectrum....people that indicate going round corners?

I always indicate at roundabouts too.

One thing that I see more frequently is people jumping queues at roundabouts by going all the way around them. There's a couple around here where the left lane for left and straight on gets clogged at rush hour. Some numbnuts race up the outside, do a little loop on the roundabout and carry on like other people are waiting there for the good of their health.

I'm a round about queue jumper and mainly indicate when cutting people up. But i do think some round abouts are stupid that have three lanes 90% of he traffic goes straight on, so they have one lane with a straight on arrow only. IIRC correctly the high code says use the both lanes to go straight on (on a two lane approach). If i can get out quick enough or choose my moment to get over well enough whats the problem
