Do you know anybody who had their car keyed?

I had my car keyed when in the space of a week someone keyed all the cars on our street. Even though my car at the time was a complete shed (it already had huge dents in both doors) it still made me irrationally angry.

It actually put me off buying a nicer car until the most likely suspects family moved out. Funnily enough there's been no car vandalism on the street since, although that doesn't necessarily prove anything.

Someone keyed my E60 a year or two back down the drivers side as I parked up and nipped back into the flat to grab something. Fortunately, there was sooooo much wax on the car it did little more than marr it. They obviously realised that their key efforts were futile and dug a little deeper on the rear passenger door, but a 100ml 1:1 of solvent base and celly clearcoat on a rag, and a machine polish later and you wouldn't have had a clue

this thread makes me sad :(

can't we have the "anti-theft" measures on James Bonds BMW from Tomorrow Never Dies? like they go to key the car and the electricity arcs to the key and zapps the *******!! :p

rockets come in handy too should someone pull out infront :p

or cover the car in sandpaper/grinding material... they try to key it.... then they can't use the key for the lock it was meant for as it's been worn down :p far fetched I know.... but can dream ;)

I had every panel done on an old Fiat. It was essentially a write off so I just left it.

It was done by some old bloke who thought it was the appropriate action to take after rowing with me over my blue badge.

I had the blue badge after extensive foot reconstruction which left me with very poor mobility for a couple of years. I never renewed it when my right foot needed the same surgery for this reason.

We get a lot of six formers from a local school park down our small cul de sac and a few years ago every single car on the road next to my house got keyed... APART from my car. It must have been one of my neighbours but no one ever owned up to it, I suspect the old guy opposite who hated the kids parking down here.

It didn't look great that mine was the only one untouched, but obviously a good thing for me. I can't stand people who key cars, it's so cowardly.

I remember I had a run in with some of the kids who lived near the school I used to go to. park up in this little carpark behind some houses next to the school (rather than struggling to park along side the school where everyone else tried) and coming out one day the scummy gits booted their football as hard as they could (he took a run up) against my car as I drove past (ball traveled about 10ft to hit my car as they were on the pavement at the entrance).

I got out and had a go at them to which they didn't give a **** and tried to boot the ball at my car again but missed as I hooned it away.

about a week passes and then when leaving school I went to my car and found it had been hit by numerous balls (shallow dipping on panels so assumed impact from footballs), had eggs pelted at it which chipped some paint work, tins of beans poured over the window and panels and grass torn up and strewn across the car.

to make it worse, it had been a hot sunny day so some was caked on pretty hard and needed to be put through the car wash about 4 times to get it all off.

despite me taking pics of the incident and having a statement from a local resident who saw the kids who did it and told me where they lived.... the police did FA! was seriously ****ed off about that!!!

I then parked at the complete opposite end to the school in the back of a pub carpark (after explaining to them and asking if I could just park in the back as people didn't usually use it and they were cool with it :) nice people) as I was afraid that they might do it again or do something more malicious. I mean.... they could think "HAHHAHA let's really get this ****" and cut my brakes or something o.O

pity these people as they must live miserable lives to want to aimlessly cause damage for no good reason. still deserve to die though the filthy little ****s!!! probably do the world a massive favour too.

I think everyone who owns something nice or at least something that is taken care of will get keyed once in their life. When I used to park on the road my Nissan was keyed along the back door and front wing on the passenger side. Luckily the person did a rubbish job of it and a bit of wet sanding and a polisher removed it.

My Celica also had a keying on the rear quarter but was unsure if it was done in my ownership or not. Again wet sanding saved the day.

Last summer walking back to a friends car (4 of us) we saw some scumbag waste of space keying cars, when we got close we saw he did my mates car also, we jumped the guy and pinned him to the floor until the coppers arrived, the police left notes on all the keyed cars to get in touch and some months later a cheque to my mate to cover the cost of getting it sorted.

3 cars of ours done in the space of a few months along with black paint thrown over my works transit. Luckily one car is only a cheap workhorse so it's been left and the other two we managed to get away with our own smart repair rope job. Dealer didn't pick it up when either we're traded in

Missus' Fiesta was done a year or so ago, passenger side +door bonnet and roof.

Haven't bothered to get it resprayed as the car isn't worth as much as it would cost to fix. Most annoying as she'd had it ~3 weeks at the time

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Got to my car this morning and it's been keyed along both drivers side doors. Sooo angry !!

6 weeks ago this 12yr old car had great paintwork and now it's had a moped ride in to the rear bumper and scuff it bad and now it's been keyed along one side.

Not even old cars are safe from the key wielding ******** that live in this country !!!

Absolute Scum.

I've not been keyed but I have had my door mirror kicked off twice, the same one within a few weeks. I was starting to think it was personal lol.

A guy I know got some money when his dad died so he bought a fairly new EVO, within 2 weeks someone had eyed it, he had it fixed & a few weeks later they did it again. He has since sold the car as he had had enough.

Travolta got it right in Pulp Fiction.

Did you find out why he did it?
