Do you lie?

Yes, and I have a knack for being quite good at it.

Mostly stemmed (surprise, surprise) from childoood when I used to lie to get out of trouble and not upset my step-father. This has created a pathological need to lie if I believe that telling the truth will create any kind of conflict.

This has led to issues with my wife years ago but I'm much better at being honest now as I'm trying to stop avoiding conflict due to inaction being worse than the actual conflict itself.

That's understandable an explanation. I'm glad that you are trying to do something about it though as avoiding conflict is just as unhealthy.

Yes and I would never believe anyone who says otherwise.

Mine range from little white lies to huge whoppers.

It all depends on the situation and whether they are warranted.

I think everyone lies to some degree. A particularly British one is to say that you love your new haircut to the hairdresser but in reality you hate it!! Lol!

I defy anyone to always tell the truth in all scenarios.

I have had scenarios growing up during the troubles in Northern Ireland where lying saves me a kicking, or my life. If someone says are you Protestant or Catholic and you are in a Protestant area, you know to lie and say "I'm Protestant".
