Do you look forward to going to work?

I enjoy work, but mainly because the people I work with are a good laugh and the office is very relaxed. The job itself is repetetive and boring.

I don't look forwards to going to work because I hate getting up at 6:30AM so I can get to work for 9AM. Commuting sucks balls.

I really dont mind it at all, in my last company my collegues were simply from another planet. But where i get on with pretty much everyone in my current positions its no longer a headache. The work itself is more varied and i'm being trained in an area i wish to work so its damned good ! I only hope it continues as my contracts up in 3 months :/

I'm sure the working from home help a lot?

I could quite easily do my job from home, and only go to work for the weekly Friday meetings etc.

Problem is the "elder generation", I'm one of 2 managers, the rest are all receptionists. They have set rotas, and I could easily see them kicking up a fuss if I were to work from home. They already make tedious remarks that I have my half day on a Friday (they aren't allowed to pick when they have theirs)...

The only problem with working from home, as my gf will attest, is that you can get quite lonely being alone all day everyday.

I don't look forward to it, but I don't mind working. I am a Technical Consultant.

The commute takes ~20 minutes on a bike, ~45 in a car so bike it always is. I also work from home 2 days a week.

Nope, i dont look forward to going into work, the only enjoyable part is that there might be a pretty girl on the bus.

This and again my job is one that could be done completely remotely so it would be nice to have a day or 2 at home through the week.

That wouldn't bother me tbh. I currently work alone (have my own office/don't have much interest with colleagues). It would also allow me to get a dog, as I'd be able to look after it rather than it being left in the house all day on it's own...

I'm a Software Developer, Don't usually mind going to work but today being the first day back after Christmas was a struggle :(

I am in IT support.

It's a very small business (150 staff onsite) so it's very personal and fun to support. As many friends have been made. Team I work with is tiny thus more fun.

New manager ruined it for me though, he is a ****. And now I just want to travel the world, but fear in doing so, I will come back to no chance of getting a job again :(

As someone else wrote, my job is good but i'll never look forward to going into work! There is so many other things i'd rather do than work.
I never dread going into work though or get sunday evening blues with this job.

In that case: do that. Dogs are nice, and you can take fap breaks in your home office. Surely that will increase your quality of life.

No. Absolutely not.
Currently i work for a company who likes to think i live to work and that having staff who can cover multiple roles is a satisfactory substitute for employing a couple more staff.
A job is a means to an end; an evil necessity that commands more of my time on this earth than is healthy or desirable for my growth as a person and limits my interaction with my friends, and severely restricts my time to find a good woman.

Given some recent talks with my bosses before the holidays i am even less inclined to wanting to be there.
I'm looking for another job, but don't have much confidence of the options available.

I dont mind the place I work as I have a laugh at times and the team is good but the hours are long (6 days a week, 55 hours a week) and the pay fluctuates (sales based).

I am at a point in life I would like a guaranteed wage every month and a 5 day week. Wouldn't even mind 50 hour weeks doing it but stability is a big thing for me.

Yes, get to see all my mates and have a laugh, always something interesting to work on. As long as our days work is done we can do pretty much anything we want the rest of the time.

My days vary enough to keep me interested so I enjoy going. I used to dread getting up in the morning for my old job to the point where it was making me quite depressed.

It varies ... last 12 months or so I can't say I've looked forward to it much at all. That is mostly due to a management reshuffle and the new management chain being incapable of doing their jobs properly at all and has meant that a lot of hardwork we have done in the last few year being undermined. This has also lead to several of the people around me at work (although in a different team they are under the same management) to actively look for work elsewhere which means morale in the office is quite low. I do have the option of working from home if I need too, which I don't like due to ending up even more out of the loop on what is going on, ... and I have been doing so a couple of days a week recently just to get away from the bad atmosphere.

I'm an Infrastructure Consultant in the area of Unix/Linux.

Yes, mainly because the work is varied and my colleagues and manager are awesome.
