I know exactly what you're talking about and you're right.I was having a discussion about citizen and your own children's ownership. It's good to know the fundamentals etc. So what's the relationship between the State and us or our children. Obvioulsy if we commit a crime then we are arrested/jailed etc. But even in our so-called free lives does the State still actually own you?
The one I find interesting is that if you get a limb amputated, you don't get the option to take it home. As far as I know.
