Do you switch your TV to "GAME MODE" ?

2007. Probably not a lot, sadly. Bit like my 50pz80.

Yeah I just ebay one, just the same, same cabinet and they want £59.00 for it. I paid something like £1600 for it , I think it was 2007, September I think.. Around the same time ps3 hit the UK market or around that time.. Shame, damn good TV IMO

that might be the case, its just a starting point for most LG, defo the entry level stuff,

what everyone has to remember is the simple harsh truth about tv's, what we think looks correct is more than likely wrong by reference level design, but just do what you think is best, if you don't have the tools to setup a tv then don't copy someone else's settings as each set of the same model will be diffrent

Every person also see's differently as well. What might look good to one person may look horrid to someone else.

I think a TV should be set up to a reference level and then tuned to your individual taste and preference.

I disagree a calibrated VT50 might have been reference level 3 years ago, but for the fact that existed, an 'out of the box' GT50 was never that. Its a moot point considering they were both well surpassed by the VT65.

How that offers any insight to the question posed by the OP matters how expensive your mattress is I suppose

What's with the mattress???, oddest thing i have ever seen

The point he made was without game mode on his tv its a nasty gaming tv, with it on its perfect without image loss, which is common to most tvs, i agreed how is that not answering the question

yes tech has moved on, but the reference level is the reference level, colours etc don't become less or more as new tv's come out, they are either reference or not, set out by the REC 709 standard

It was 60" and it was far to big really but I thought after serving 16 years for Queen and Country a big TV as a laeving present was a must... :) I have not seen anything yet that looks as good the OLED LG comes close but I found it lost detail at the edges and the motion was not perfectly smooth like the ZT was.

Tbh I was gutted and relived when it was refunded.
I found it hard to resist, price tag helped though! Felt like a second chance at a 'Kuro' - though knowing the rubbish we watch it was never going to be enjoyed it its fullest.

Hoping my plasma lasts a fair few more years so least OLED have a chance to get as good. Dont see it happening that quickly...

Dont worry about it, indeed you enforced my point eloquently :)

I was ready to buy the LG OLED today but once it was off the show material and running some normal TV stuff and Blu Rays it did not look as good. It seemed to loose detail in the edges of the screen and panning motion was not as smooth as I would expect. I'm going to see what the next generation of OLEDS bring to the table if LG keep making them.

the number is the size so 65 is the 65 inch, the letters are the range of tv i.e GT, VT & ZT the B means its uk

to stand myself corrected about the number system it was size, range, model & then region...

I have the 50vt65b,
