Leading from the how many hours of sleep do you get thread ...

This is how my normal working week goes ...

Get up at 8.30am having snoozed from about 8.10am

Get home about 5.30pm and go for a 1-2 hour sleep

Get back up and stay awake till probably 2am-ish

Dunno if thats weird or not - anyone else do something similar?

I find when I get up again at night its almost like a soft reboot and I can get things done easier.

I do the exact same thing.

Im too exhausted to do anything when I get in from work unless I have an hour or so's kip.

I'm known to have a nap on the sofa after work, generally about 30 minutes to an hour. I set an alarm to make sure it's no longer than that.

I am a stay at home dad at the moment. I often take a nap at midday when my daughter does! That is partially because I will often stay up late to get a bit of time to myself.

Naps/ siesta's are supposed to be really healthy though.

I tend to only nap for 45 min. I find even a ten minute nap can be refreshing.

Yep, every day, usually about 8 hours long, overnight.

Being serious, I would love to be able to have an afternoon snooze, but if I sleep for a short time (an hour or so) I always wake up with a stonking headache and feel like someone has filled my skull with cotton wool. So I generally try to avoid having naps.

I sometimes have a wee snooze in the afternoon when I’m on holiday in a warmer climate. Usually after a long lunch.

I don't nap, I have things to do and am more than capable of staying awake between my 6-8 hours sleep in the evening.

About once a year I try to take a nap thinking I will feel better and refreshed when I awake... It never turns out that way and I learn my lesson for another year.

When you guys say you take 10-30mins naps how does that work? Are you still conscious with your eyes closed? Or are you in a deep sleep? Cause it takes me around 30-1hour to actually get into a deep sleep so a 10-30min nap to me is useless.

I love napping! If ive had a late night ill have a power nap when i get home from work like a soft reboot as said.
Also if im going out ill have a disco nap before getting ready so im fully charged!

=D Naps are amazing, i wish we had siesta's at work!

If im in a 'napping mood' i just lay there either on the sofa or a chair, can feel my eyes heavy so close them and yea drift off to a sleep, not a concious one, thats pre napping or 'resting my eyes.' A nap should last no more than an hour really other wise your going into 'short sleep' territory and those can leave you a little groggy!

Hopefully I am able to take a nap on my 1 hour breaks in College. :D

Not very often but it's glorious when I do have one - many factors need to come together first however: it needs to be weekend, I'm actually home and not out riding my bike and the wife and baby needs to be out.
It's magical when you realise a nap is on the cards, when the house goes deathly silent and only you are there all by yourself.

As soon as the realisation sets in, I'm off for a quick power*&^k and slip into the covers smiling.
