Do you turn off Mobile data when indoors?

No I'm never close enough to my data cap to make that worth worrying about. More often than not I end up intentionally disconnecting it from the WiFi because my phone seems to play better with 4/5g.

No. Seems a bit obsolete these days??

Whenever im near a trusted WIFI network it connects automatically.... Pixel 7 pro.

Hasn't this been a feature for " a long time"

BAttery not an issue for my use.

no don't do that but i have disabled 5g on my oppo as it really did impact the battery, uselessly trying to find it around here, i can heavily use it all day at work it will be around 65 percent the following morning, quick 60w charge before work and full again

No, even in Japan when I had a data cap I don’t. It’s no need, because it auto switches to wifi.

Never did with my iPhone 1 and not now.

Sounds like you need to change networks.

Also do you not use any Bluetooth devices at home? No BT earphones/headphones, no smart watch to sync etc.
Networks fine but p6 has a massive bug where you’d lose 40% battery in hours

But even without that, noticed a good 5-10% a day on average not massive but be on habit now days

BT wise in doors no I don’t use earphones I’m either on my pc or watching to by I rarely touch my phone when home maybe 15m over the weekend this week

I do not have time in my life for that.
In fairness, OP said he'd automated it.

I don't have that problem, because I have no credit, and can only use my phone on WiFi anyhow...

PAYG sucks so much these days. I used to be able to top up £15 twice a year. Now that £15 is gone in random data charges after a few weeks. I don't make any freaking calls.

I turn off 4G indoors as it's a work SIM and it's also a good indicator that WiFi is down if my phone, er, stops getting WiFi data. Alerts me to wider broadband issues.

Doesn't it auto switch to WiFi data anyway? I have WiFi calling on.
Yes, but make sure you have WiFi Assist disabled (Settings > Mobile Data on iThings) to avoid using cellular data if the WiFi isn’t great.

If you have very poor/no cellular service indoors, it’s worth going into Airplane Mode to kill the cellular radio and then re-activating WiFi and Bluetooth to save the cellular radio draining the battery needlessly searching for a signal.

Haven't most people got loads of data now?
Even with my usage I normally have around 52gb left of a 60gb contract.
Most of that has been used on speed test
