Doctor Who

Worst episode ever.

Doctor Who Confidential was a complete joke to - the reason for the episode being shooting time (they planned to film 8 & 9 at the same time) - could they REALLY not afford a couple of more weeks to make a decent episode instead of making something worse than an extremly bad thing.

Seem to be on my own here, but I liked it. Bit weird without much doctor but some funny scenes... the benny hill style chase at the start with the buckets; the end bit with his concrete girlfriend. :D and peter kay was good although I can't say I've seen much of him before.

But I do hope we're back to full doctor mode next week.

You're not alone, I liked it as well :)

I didn't hate, it was a bit weird, but I did only catch the later half of it because I was out with carmel, so will watch the repeat tomorrow, then I can give it my full attention :)

Haven't been watching this series, but caught tonight's (mainly because of Peter Kay). Thought it was really good, will definitely be tuning in again from now on, even if i have missed most of the series :p

I think it's good that they tried something a little different, especially after that rather heavy episode last week.

Me too. I like the variety, I like the fact that it was completely different to anything before, I like the humour and the sillyness, I like the fact that it was a 9 year old kid who created the monster.
Dr Who is first and foremost a kids programme. Last weeks Satans pit episode had my daughter crying her heart out because she thought Dr Who was dead, this weeks episode .... actually this weeks episode did not really engage her at all.
Variety is the spice of life, I'd rather have my preconceptions challenged a bit, I'd rather they tried out new things than churn out "classic" Dr Who stories all the time and bring in old monsters to appeal to the nostalgia.
It wasn't the best episode by a long chalk but it was certainly not "bad".

If they stick rigidly to the old formula and the classic monsters they'll be accused of being boring and uninventive and the novelty will quickly wear off.

Nope - I'll add my vote to the episode too.
It was just a good fun episode.
You didn't need to really think about it, just watch.
It came as a slow-down episode after the two we've just had and was welcome.
As always really enjoyed it.
I'm still yet to watch an episode of Dr. Who from the past two series that I haven't enjoyed yet and this series is fast running out of opportunities to disappoint.
