Doctor Who

The first episode was rubbish and won't be watching the rest. Fingers crossed for the next series :D

Take a leaf out of this lads book!

He knows it's going in the wrong direction and shows his discontent by choosing not to watch, that's exactly what you should do if it's so blatantly awful.

Obviously the BBC pay close attention to viewing figures so if you don't watch it then they'll realize there's something wrong.

Please stop watching, otherwise you sound like a bunch of Call of Duty gamers moaning about how it never changes whilst ironically standing in the enormous midnight release queue!!

What irritated me was the dinosaur part of it. It was purely to show off the special effects and advertise the programme on TV and in the TV listings / EPGs.

It played no significant part in the story and I felt that the time was just wasted on it.

Thankfully the whole literally running from plot point A to B was reduced!

I do think he'll make a really interesting Doctor though!

Next episode - acid test for anyone who plays the Doctor - Daleks.

Could set the tone for the series but with Moffat at the helm it could be a sinking ship on the other hand.

They really shouldn't have bothered in that case. It looked worse than the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, a 20 year old film.

Hopefully tonight's episode will be more like Dalek and less like Daleks take Manhattan. The Waters on Mars was a cracking episode but that's all Phil Ford's been involved in to date.

It was ok. Purists would probably moan about the idea of a good dalek, but Dr Who isn't very good at continuity, so you just have to roll with it.

I'm not sure why we're getting bogged down in Clara's soap opera love life back home. Who cares?

Started off good, went downhill a bit. Lost interest drastically towards the end.

Capaldi was good again.

I agree, better than last week. Slightly.

I'm liking the new Doctor. I like the mature, and self questioning hint in his demeanor.

Putting aside the fact that last week he was totally confused etc and this week everything is hunky dory without any inbetween (did we miss an episode? episodes out of sych?) Capaldi is definately playing the mature and wise Doctor.

The fact that he brought Clara back exactly 30sec after he initially picked her up to the Tardis stop/start lever. Smith and Tennant had dials, pinball plungers etc to start it and could never get an accurate place or time - Capaldi, 1 lever and pin point precision!

Every time they do a new Dalek episode I'm reminded of of the latter seasons of Stargate SG1 where they'd overused the Goa'uld so much that the dead horse they were flogging was just a pile of gore on the floor.

Well I liked parts of it greatly.
'Here swallow this' to dolorous Ed, the old he was going to die anyway.
In the soup of dead, hes the bit on the top if you'd like to say something.

Then when he shows the dalek the wonders of the universe, it shows more about his own soul, filled with hate.
You are a good Dalek, a good killing machine, a weapon of mass destruction etc.

Not a good man, but a man who tries to do good.
The concept for an excellent episode was all there.

They got reasonably close to its execution.

Completely agreed with on all counts. They've overused the daleks to the point where people just don't care anymore. The weeping angels are more scarier, though they obviously don't have the daleks deep history. I also can't stand the intro tune, it's like they tried to make it sound old school but failed.
