Doctor Who

It was an enjoyable enough episode until the last 5 minutes when it just went to political woke nonsense that wasnt needed in the slightest. The story could have ended without any of the incel / consent drivel that felt forced into the story line. My problem with Ncuti and Jodie is that the doctor they play is permanently weak. All the other doctors have had an angry / rage side or a clever side where they come up with a plan, but Jodie and Ncuti both are just weak and washy. The irony is they had the chance to make them almost stronger than the "white male" previous doctors, but they went in completely the opposite direction.

Have we reached the '89 McCoy level yet?

The same old tired writers, season after season.

Chibnall, T-Davies, Moffat. Give it to some young bloods for a change.

Otherwise just put it out of it's misery already and give it a much needed break.

There are some new writers for this season. Yes RTD wrote a couple but not all.

Didn't grab me at all for a first episode of a new season, hopefully it picks up as the trailer for next weeks looks like it might be decent with the 50s setting.

Finally got round to rewatching it.

Not a very good episode but i will keep watching it.

Tardis is cool but wish they would go back to a old style Sonic Screwdriver.

too big too flashy, too much woke, they're continuing down the same pathway, where leaving episodes alone within their own story might be acceptable, but the doctor comes across as never in control, and never with a bright idea

I think many times the doctor isn't in control and just gets lucky or has a great idea but it doesnt always work how he expects. Sure many older stories from classic era are like that too.

I think his crying and flapping about like a big girls blouse too much to be a credible Time Lord. It's like watching the otherwise utterly brilliant Larry Grayson try to play Sherlock Holmes. Doesn't work.

Horses for courses, this show has completely lost it's way, and that's why no-one is watching it and why it's on it's last legs.

I gave up on Dr Who some time ago, around the time Capaldi took over. However did watch the new one last Saturday.
It confirmed to me my original decision was correct, I thought it was awful.

The doctor is almost always in control when it matters. Thats kind of the point. No matter how silly, whimsical and out of his depth he appears, he is always capable and almost always just letting things roll. Most of the doctors get their "you've gone too far moment" where they let the bad guys know that they are only operating because he is letting them. Tenant had it. Smith had it. I can't really speak much to Capaldi and beyond because I had pretty much checkout out by that point but the idea is that Doctor who is ancient, powerful and fantastically intelligent. He keeps himself amused romping around playing with stuff but if he wanted to he could ruin most things/people.
