Argh, not another 15 gazillion pages.

Mathematically, 0.9r equals ONE!

But we humans can't conceive it; I know myself and Gilly can't / were looking for a non-mathematical view.

Personally I still think that if you've got 0.999999.... then you've still got a 0.0000000000000000r[1], so there's a tiny bit left.

But do I really care / will I get heated about it / blah - no!:)

PS - The definitive answer is HERE - signup, download, and you'll never ever have to worry about the 0.9r again!;) :D :p

Its more an "at you, not with you" thing though.

whats the diffrence still gets you laughing, does it matter if its at or with as long as the comedian doesnt care.

[BHowever a flawed model of are universe which is maths tells us it does infact =1 but because we no it doesnt how can you possibly say that 0.9r actrally = 1. [/B]
Maths isn't a model of the universe, thats physics, which is written in, but doesn't use all of, maths. Maths is a model of nothing but itself.

alpha that was a swift edit there ;)
Yep it was, I was half trying to read Harleys post in another thread, and my multitasking isn't up to much. I usually have trouble chewing gum and walking.

can some one tell me what 3x4 is please
It can be anything if you define it philosophically, it just depends how much you're willing to pay Gilly :p

I was trying to possibly show how 0.9r can not be equal to 1. As when they are divided, different outcomes occur.

1/2 = 0.5

0.9r/2 = 0.49r?
Correct. But 0.49r happens to equal 0.5 ;)

hehe i now but couldnt think of a bettwerway of saying it a model of its self ill rember that one.

But its still flawed as we now in the real world 0.9r < 1

and i say what goes in the real wold is correct not some man made model. Unless that model can influnce and then change the reall world.

If you tried to right down the number 0.99999999999.....9999999....999999
you'd always find it < 1, true. But if you right "0.9r", you instantly take it out of the realm of the real world and into that of maths (exclusively) where 0.9r is defined as 1.
