Does anyone else find Bioshock scary?

Bioshock certainly had its attention grabbing moments, but FEAR certainly cleared my bowls more than once. Specially the bits where you'd get a ghost or that scary be hatch of a girl charging at you in the vents. Oh and not forgetting the ladder incident. You approach the ladder, turn to go down it - Girl standing right in your face - PARRRPPP climb down the ladder, turn Blokey Dude in your face PARRRRPP PFFTTT Wet and warm undies for me :(

Yeah, I found FEAR scary for a little while. I jumped out of my skin at the first 'fright' scene. After a few of those, it just became annoying, and apparent that that was all the game was about.

*spoiler*
i found the last boss so easy...if i harvest all the little sisters do they still help me in the end or is it harder since i saved them all and i must say what an ending :')

While playing this game, I have literally jumped out of my set, a good 2cm or more at times, they catch me off guard while I'm looking at a door waiting for them .

That was the only bit that made me jump. The rest was dull and not a bit scary. Shame because I was hoping it would be like Condemned but nooo.

I bought Condemned 2 and Dead Space for PS3 before christmas condemned might have been scary but I just LOL at condemned 2. Just started mind you but the guy throwing televisions at me made me laugh. Probably because it reminded me of all these e-mails from years ago about the guys throwing their monitors out of the windows.

Dead Space however is completely different ... what a game simply love it.

Bioshock. Had that for the 360 and will buy it again for the PC once I've done GTA IV, Dead Space and Condemned 2.

Loved the shotgun bit as well those crazy nurses start attacking. Love the way they run away laughing then attack again, simply great.

i think a lot of you chaps are confusing 'scary' with 'makes you jump in a cheap way by suddenly having something pop up on the screen when you aren't expecting it'...

Something a lot of horror movies are also guilty of
No bioshock is very atmospheric and scary

Bioshock was good and had a jumpy atmosphere from the start. Once you have played a few levels, actually equipped yourself with something better than your fist/wrench and taken down a few of each enemy, it becomes a little more routine. When you find yourself taking out the big brothers two at a time with joke weaponry you know you have become desensitised.

Still a great game, one of the best SP FPS I've played in a good year or two.

I certainly liked this game but I wouldn't say for me it was the most scary game or ranked near the top of my favourite games list.

If you're finding it hard to play Bioshock, Dead Space will rip your heart in two

how the hell u find it scary i actually find it funny.

want some scary games play system shock 2, resident evil 1 , resident evil 2 , silent hill 1 , silent hill 2.

Aye Silent Hill games didnt have fancy graphics so they had to work harder, first time in silent hill where it goes to the war sirens and darkens I remember being scared crapless :D

That bit in FEAR is right near the beginning.

Saying that, i've got no further. That girl scares me too much.

For real pant-wetting action, try Penumbra Overture. That game is terrifying, although nothing compares to the mastery that is Silent Hill 2.

Just a question, as I have Bioshock, but not played it yet.

Is it scary in the boring Doom3 sense, in that every corridor you walk down has a powercut and then x amount of flesh eating monsters appear?

Oh man this game sounds awesome I need to get it as I saw it on offer at well-know high street store. I just got my i7 rig so at last I have a machine that can run it hee hee!

Bioshock and Dead Space i don't find scary, apart from a few jumpy parts.... Bioshock was probably scarier than Dead Space actually.

On the other hand, the first few play through's of HL2 scared me to death :( . I had to mute the sound of it and play very loud music or it would be turned of in minutes.

And Penumbra......... arghgghghgh
