Does anyone else hate going to the barbers?

i do my own hair with a brylcreem/remington clipper. but yeh i did hate going to the barbers.. specially one time, the guy clipped a spot or something on the back of my neck and the pain was intense :s never been back since.

Job done. I went into one I have never been to before, it looked more old skool from the outside (traditional wood furniture/worktops/chairs etc with wall art resembling the 1930s etc) so thought why not, nice place :D

Was speaking to the girl doing the cutting and found out they hold competitions and things so managed to pimp in my business cards so looks like I'll be doing headshots to promote them and enter compos etc in the near future \m/

Also, she was fascinated by my 'fringe' women...

See OP, Barbershops aren't bad at all.

I quite enjoy going, but i go to a poncey place where an absolute sort washes my hair then another stunner cuts it. Well worth £20.

Well I popped to Argos today and bought these clippers:

Reduced to £20 from £50, and they get good reviews.

My wife gave me a grade 10 all over, then blended the sides to the top with a number 3. It looks exactly as I'd have it done at the hairdressers, just a little bit shorter.

One use and they've already half paid for themselves. Another plus is I can nestle my head in my wife's chest furniture whilst my hair is being cut, and not worry about being thrown out of the barbers.

The small talk kills me, although the current barber and myself have a good understanding as he just asks me how work is at the moment initially and then leaves it at that...
