Does anyone here have no interest in computer stuff?

Yep I use to like them, now I hate em. Only use them for browsing and work now. Sport > Computers, tbh.

Errr, says the guy with ATI in his sig, rather than <<Insert football club here>>

I find computers very interesting, its good to fix these problems by yourself too.

I like to learn, and keep learning about computers and other related IT subjects.

I like them, so they like me.

End of. :)

I used to have a very active interest in computers.... its slowly dying tbh. Mainly as I have to spend my money on other things now and technology seems to be moving so much more quickly than it used to!
I wouldn't say that my interest in computers is dying in fact the novelty still hasn't worn off but I agree with you about technology moving so quickly!
You need to have a big wad of cash to keep up :(

Alternatively you can be like some people (like my sister) who just uses her PC for banking and sending e-mails and doesn't upgrade her PC for years on end - in fact she's only recently upgraded to XP :D

I'm even trying to move my career to solely tech management and sacking off any techy knowledge. Bit daft really but it would take a LOT of work to update my knowledge and I really don't have the determination to bother any more.

That's exactly how I'm feeling after doing this for so long, I really can't be bothered any more!

Agree 100%

Mind you I'm only a relative newbie to computers, ask me this in say 10 years time and I may then say I'm getting bored with them

p.s. I'm only a newbie to computers regarding the PC as I used to own both an Amstrad CPC 464 and an Amiga but I used to use those exclusively for games and nothing else.

I still play games but I also use my PC for other things as well now one of them being visiting the forums!

I actually like learning how they work which is probably why I ask lots of questions :o

I knew my interest had waned when I had to replace a faulty PSU and the thought of fiddling with all those wires made me feel ill.

Fan noise annoys me nowadays and so I am soon going to downgrade my rig by ditching everything that needs a fan.

Going passive cooled is the new overclocking :p

Learning how they work is the simple part, learning how to fix them is a little bit more work, but all in good experience.

Well (touchwood), I have had hardly any problems with my PC over the last 5 years or so apart from a hard drive failing but luckily I had the sense to make a backup so everything was back up and running in around 30 minutes!

Exactly the same move in career as I am planning. IT Tech -> Network Manager -> IT Manager -> IT Director.

Yes I need to have knowledge of hardware and software but it becomes more and more of the overview type of knowledge and far more planning, budgeting and managing.

My techs have the knowledge to do the actual implematation. Me? I write the Action Plans! :D

Oh as for now I am kind of half IT Manager half Network Manager although my job titile says IT Manager.

Being a tech killed my interest in PCs - I just want the to work.

My only super interest in computers, and the only thing that keeps it going is trying to help other people spark a interest in them and get on.

I love teaching/helping people who are enthusiastic, and it is what I usually speak to people about on MSN, handy having a sign off button mind as 24/7 computers is way way to boring.

They are more of a rainy day, or nothing better to do thing for me.

You know, if you read this thread replacing the words 'PC' and 'computer' with the word 'willy' it's a lot more entertaining.

Ditto. I now hate fiddling and tweaking my willy now, I just want to use it and that's it.

It's amusing, yet slightly disturbing.

It make this PC stuff so much harder.

I use to be quite into modding and all that, but now ive just gone back to good old plain case :p

i try to keep up to date with the latest stuff. I seem to have spurts of interest when i start planning to upgrade. Once i upgrade though i hardly visit the hardware sections.

More into the networking sides now.

Got my pc when i was 12 i was totally into gaming and hardware etc up till about 16, im 17 now and cant be bothered with it, i only browse forums and chat on msn.

It sort of went from love to hate :D

If it wasn't for World of Warcraft just recently, I would have totally lost interest in my computer. I do use it for music, watching films etc so I do not need a CD player or TV.

I am not following my original career path with a job in IT, going for more exciting job now in the armed forces.
