Does something need to be done about dogs?

We are discussing UK statistics and banning them from the UK, no one gives a hoot about America stats in the context of this conversation, outside of yourself who are using every fact and figure you can find online globally to justify your position about the UK.

Erm...ttask was the one recently quoting American stats.
Nice attempt to cover up your reading failure though.

Yeah, cos pitbulls etc. magically turn into little pugs once they cross the Atlantic?
This thread I imagine was started with the UK in mind and as far as I can see the attacks being discussed throughout were UK based. We cant even decide what the best solution is to combat it in the UK let alone the US which is a whole other clown world, shall we start posting stats and attacks from all the other countries in world? We also have our own breed legislation with Pit Bulls being banned so posting a chart with them being responsible for the most attacks in the US is irrelevant.

Not sure why you think we have an influx of Pit Bulls coming to the UK, I guess there are some due to back street breeders though.

Where did I say I think that?

I think one thing you're perhaps missing is that bull terrier types in general are referred to as "pit bulls" in the US whereas in the UK we have a partial ban that only excludes a subset as "pit bulls" but bizarrely allows things like the XL Bully etc. The point is simply that bull terrier types are disproportionately more dangerous than other breeds in terms of deaths and in turn clearly particularly violent attacks (as many won't result in deaths) and there is no need for them to exist.

Do you think pedigree staffies should suffer forced extinction?

Then if you don't read it maybe you should pipe down to stop yourself looking rather stupid?
Sorry for working and having better things to do than argue with people who refuse to ensure humans take responsibility for their actions and owned items/animals actions.

Wiping out a breed of dog that causes hardly any problems is cruel. What have they done to deserve the termination of their breed.

What had they done to deserve the creation of their breed?

You can say the same about any individual dog that gets neutered/spayed - "what have they done to deserve the termination of their family line?"

Breeds aren't species, these breeds were artificially created too, are you against neutering dogs in general? Fertility rights for dogs?

It’s cruel on the dogs to deny them the right to life.

Where is that being advocated here?

I just think wiping out a breed because of an extremely small number of incidents is totally ridiculous. It’s draconian.

Its been 5 years since a pedigree staff was involved in a fatal attack.
