Does your post count matter to you?

if the post count field got removed from the user profile and post info, then I'd not be bothered, although the user groups are normally enough to let you know how long someone has been around.

Indeed, I'd think that or Don Status was pretty much what most would be proud of, rather then post count.

What did you get your MoH for? Can't remember that far back.

Dude look how long it took me to get to 170 posts, so to hit 250 is gonna take me like another 2 years!
How about negotiating with Mr Admin to let me get in the members market for 185 posts?

Matters in the MM - generally more likely to trust somebody with a high post count (and a good trust...) Otherwise, not really.

Nope not at all to me, especially since Ive been on these forums for 4 years and I dont even have 200 posts!

Best forum I use to go on had no post count at all.

From an admin perspective I like them. You have to give a bit of credit to people who have managed to rack up a large post count without getting banned. It may not sound hard, but so many try and fail...

Although here that obviously doesn't mean squat - it's impossible for most end-users to keep track of who has 'bought' their post count and who has 'earned' it.

pfft,

See far to many people with 2k+ thinking they can talk down to people with 100-500 posts.

Too me it means nothing, I ask questions, help where I can, and gain info. Thats all the forum is for me.

I have been a member since 2004 and only have 50 posts.
I enjoy reading the views of the forum members and occasionally I reply, if someone more knowledgeable does not beat me to it.
I do not reply to threads I know nothing about by Googling for answers, as if they come back to you for more in depth knowledge on the subject you are up the creek without a paddle.
