Yes when its nearing xmas, we get him some sort of chocolates usually a tin tin of quality streets or something. Only a couple people down are road do it, so i dont think its as popular as it used to be.

Well it used to be, back in the days when people actually talked to each other.

I've had £70 in tips so far, the guy who delivers to my house got over £700 last year and the woman who works next to me gets over £500 and lots of bottles of wine/vodka/whisky but they have been doing the same rounds for years.

Edit - make that £105, got another £35 today.

My postman came at 5am today - a little keen i'll admit. I usually ply him with coffee and a mince pie at this time of year, but he has delivered ever day these past few weeks so I might get him something extra.

I suspect he means the clip on cleats you can get to fit over your normal shoes, like tyre chains in theory but for bipedal locomotion.
