Domino's pizza finger test

Dominos store manager of over 10 years here,

Dominos is franchised, and as any shop quality/service varies from store to store. Your bad experiences are most likely the result of just having poorly trained staff.

I have complained to their head office and posted on their Facebook page. I should have been more forceful I know but I wasn't up to it with this rotten cold.
You will recieve a £25 voucher, and the franchisee/area manager will be notified of your complaint.

It will be passed on to the staff and actioned, this procedure is very well enforced.

Also, if you are every wondering what your pizza SHOULD look like from Dominos... these are a few that i made for actual customers..

So Terley, what's with the now ridiculous prices?
Depends where you are mate

My shop currently does medium pizzas for £5.99 on collection large for £7.99

We have 365 day a year deals such as 2x 13" pizzas + garlic bread + wedges + 1.25ltr drink for £22.99

Honestly if you buy anything at full menu price without using the deals you are bound to overpay, and really the staff at the store are not happy with people paying full price, that customer is less likely to return if they feel like they have been ripped off, thus counterproductive to further business.

One thing i can state though.

Dominos UK 2016 over 90% of deliveries where delivered in 22 minutes or less, we have trackers unlike any other delivery service, soon to be live trackers with smart devices in driver cars (currently being tested across the UK) and 100 degree C bags with hot-plates inside to ensure the food is oven hot on delivery.

All of our stores should have a 5* food safety standard, if they don't achieve this the management team is replaced. The stores recieve 4 head office based operations inspections per year that can cost the management their jobs if they fail to meet standards.

Not to mention in comparison to any other pizza delivery service you can guarantee our ingredients are fresher and better sourced than any other, Dominos only has 1 freezer and thats for ice-cream, they recieve 3 fresh food deliveries per week.

Does anyone actually buy Dominos other than on a “two for Tuesday”? Who in there right mind would pay around £40 for a couple of pizzas when they are not buy one get one free. You could go out and have a proper meal for that.
Also seen numerous things on Twitter and in the papers Dominos staff being seen buying trolley loads of potato wedges etc in Aldi for £1 a bag and then charging idiots £3.99 for a small handful :(
Papa Johns is the place to go for pizza :D only on a Tuesday when its buy one get one free of course

Genuinely enjoying your replies here! Nearest place to me only ever has 2 for 1 but the larges are still like £19 or something! I can go to the local italian that does take out pizzas and get one knocked up for a 5er that is equal I'm terms of quality and bigger. I dunno what went on but the prices just skyrocketed in the last couple of years here from 11 or 12 to the 19 now.

The potato wedge aldi twitter fiasco did cause head office a head-ache, the driver and manager where instantly sacked mind.

And for £40 you could get 6 large pizzas in most Dominos.

Papa johns is decent, although the UK franchise are made up of ex-dominos franchisee's who failed, their procedures are identical to dominos, from how they make pizzas, to their ovens and hot-bags.
I am not a fan of their pizza sauce, its too sweet. And their G+H dip sucks :P

tbh if you look hard enough in the deals section you can effectively get 2 for tuesday any day of the week

I would dare to suggest that they pay minimum wages to a high turnover of staff.
just a bad branch?

i think i've only ever had one mistake, which they rectified without questioning it and didn't even want to take the incorrect pizza back

It was two branches , one in the city and one in a local town. Both within a week of each other.

Where abouts are you from bud?

Never had an issue with Dominos pizza, from Worthing, Brighton, Burgess Hill, and Lancing stores. Always very hot, always well made, never had toppings missing or anything like that.

I find your first story quite hard to believe to be perfectly honest with you. I could easily ask my friend who used to work there for confirmation, but I'm pretty sure that the pizza's are actually checked by another member of staff before they go in the boxes, and there are people who do set things in a "production line" type affair. So if someone didn't put the tomato base on, it would definitely have been picked up on.

Our instore staff recieve national living wage
Our drivers recieve national living wage + petrol + tips (i've seen drivers working 35 hours a week pull £20k a year)
Our shift managers recieve a choice between £8.50 an hour or a £22k salary
Our store managers recieve a £30-40k+ salary depending on the stores turn-over and performance

Many franchise have different pay structures, the instore team does tend to have a high turn-over, although the job is fantastic for students or people wanting some fun easy part-time work.
