Domino's pizza finger test

North east. Nearest branch is cramlington which is still a good few miles away
Yeah that seems to be one of the few owned by the smaller franchisee's

There are a few deals there such as £9.99 per pizza if you buy two or more on delivery, but you are right that store in particular does have poor deals.

Never had an issue with Dominos pizza, from Worthing, Brighton, Burgess Hill, and Lancing stores. Always very hot, always well made, never had toppings missing or anything like that.

I find your first story quite hard to believe to be perfectly honest with you. I could easily ask my friend who used to work there for confirmation, but I'm pretty sure that the pizza's are actually checked by another member of staff before they go in the boxes, and there are people who do set things in a "production line" type affair. So if someone didn't put the tomato base on, it would definitely have been picked up on.

Not this time. It had some toppings, which were incorrect for the Pizza I ordered. Green peppers for example. I am wondering if someone had a special order and they mixed it up. It was extremely unappetizing without the base, bordering vile. I wish I had taken a photo now but you couldn't see the base was missing due to it being covered in a thick layer of cheese.

Lol typical. I'll nab one next time I'm over your way! That pepperoni earlier looked so good!

The potato wedge aldi twitter fiasco did cause head office a head-ache, the driver and manager where instantly sacked mind.

And for £40 you could get 6 large pizzas in most Dominos.

Papa johns is decent, although the UK franchise are made up of ex-dominos franchisee's who failed, their procedures are identical to dominos, from how they make pizzas, to their ovens and hot-bags.
I am not a fan of their pizza sauce, its too sweet. And their G+H dip sucks :p
Dominos do the best stuffed crusts and dips but IMO I prefer Papa Johns pizza although i do buy from both in equal measures.
Random question why is the Hot Dog stuffed crust hardly ever available anymore? I have not seen it for ages :( if there’s one thing that makes me buy pizza more than normal it’s when the hot dog crust is out

Personally i have no doubt you are 100% telling the truth, some pizzas i've seen leave Dominos i'm not in charge of just make me so angry its ridiculous..

Funny story about the hot-dog stuffed crust :p

One franchisee pushed to try it in his store, Dominos HQ have a commitee called the "MAC" that decide on new products, they said that he could try a trial of the product, and within a week they had sold out more than 4 times, so they decided to run it nationwide.

The product became INSANELY popular, although the issue was the sausage itself, it caused the crust to lose uniformity because it didn't like being put into a circular formation, due to this and the complaints from people saying the pizzas weren't round they decided to pull it.

I do see it coming back soon though.

We have toyed with lots of ideas, i.e. full english pizza.. Heinz baked beans sauce, Scrambled eggs, cumberland sausage, bacon, and a choice of a ketchup drizzle or brown sauce.

I personally really dislike Papa Johns pizza. The greasy garlic special dip stuff is absolutely vile as well, like eating engine oil. God knows what they were thinking.

Agreed. The dominos dip is nectar in comparison!

Not to mention in comparison to any other pizza delivery service you can guarantee our ingredients are fresher and better sourced than any other, Dominos only has 1 freezer and thats for ice-cream, they recieve 3 fresh food deliveries per week.
Domino's are also the only pizza shop in Britain that uses real cheese and not a substitute made from heart clogging oils.

Thanks, I have no reason to make this up, no score to settle etc. It was just my poor experiences of the last two orders and last night's fingering melarky pushed me over the edge. :D

Aye, i believe its sourced from somewhere in Anglesea, the cost of our cheese is our primary food cost in the stores. Funnily enough the Russia/Ukraine crisis caused cheese prices to plummet in the UK, was a nice year for us.

Without customer feedback, both good/bad the stores won't improve, so believe it or not.. Your feedback is welcomed!

That's surprising to hear as my local dominos, in fact two of the stores in swindon we tried, constantly over cook their pizzas, so I started buying from PJ's last year... cooked to perfection every time.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!!!:eek::(:mad:
That’s ridiculous it was the best thing ever! Literally everyone I know used to talk non stop about how good the hot dog crust was when it was out. Thought it was suspicious I hadn’t seen it in a while.

I call it the garlic custard dip as it looks like a pot of ambrosia Custard more than a dip lol. It lets the side down for papa Johns they need to sort it out

Domino's ovens use a 6 minute timed conveyor belt set at 235 degrees, usually it should be impossible to over-cook or under-cook pizzas, because you literally can't put them back in because there would be a pizza behind it. In this instance i imagine the oven was either a) old or b) not setup corrently.

It was fantastic :P especially with mustard. I miss the original Meltdown pizza.

Since when did they introduce the finger test for heat? That was definitely my last visit to them.

I'm sure they haven't officially introduced a finger test for heat. No large business would risk that.

I don't work for Dominoes but I do work in a large business that cooks and sells food as part of the business and I'm aware of the rules and regulations. Testing the temperature of cooked food with your finger is not a recommended method to put it mildly. That would be gross misconduct where I work, probably a sacking offence. Every cooked item is checked with a sterilised temperature probe before going out, which is how it's meant to be done. Merely putting food on the wrong shelf in a fridge is a formal disciplinary. Sticking your finger in the food would not go down at all well. There's no way Domino, or any other large food business, has that as an official policy.

Even clean hands aren't sterile, so the excuse would be nonsense even if his finger was clean (which it can't have been, as you pointed out).

Yeah it sounds like a bad store. My one replaces the order and gives the customer a coupon for next time. It's inevitable things sometimes go wrong if we're sending out hundreds of orders, it's how we deal with the problem that counts.

Also terley those are good looking pizzas :)
