It's 1 spider, 1 tiny spider...Within a mile of where I'm sitting how many spiders do you think there are living, with no problems.
It's not an indangered species. Its not going to cause the natural way of things to change drastically. How many spiders are killed when we walk from A to B over the fields? How many bees\flys\butterflies and spiders are killed by trains, planes, buses, cats and dogs?

I wouldn't like bees, as useful as they are in nature, to fly around in my home. I like bees in general, they aren't aggressive annoying ****s unlike wasps and hornets

Thats fare enough if they're in your house and are disturbing you. I thought you meant not to Respect Insects at all.
I don't really care about insects but my only real experience with them is when they are annoying me in my own home. Like ants eating the rest of my half eaten lollipop and generally wrecking the floor by digging tunnels. Or flies, mosquito's, wasps.
Outside the only time I have problems with insects is with wasps, they wont get the hint that when you're moving away from them, that they shouldn't follow. And flies when eating outside...
That is seriously not the point at all.
How many humans are there? how many are killed every natural disaster? how many are living happily?
Does it really matter if I come around and batter you to death with a bat because of your stupid post? Yes.

You really couldn't.
Insect/bug/arachnid populations are not really comparable to mammals. They're of an order of magnitude greater so it really is meaningless.
I'm sure the number floating around is 1.5 billion insects for every single human being, so not even including arachnids and other bugs killing one spider (albeit it in a completely OTT manner) doesn't make a blind bit of difference in the grand scheme of things.

You joke, but there is a connection between the mindset needed to enjoy trapping and killing animals in a relatively elaborate and cruel way and more dangerous mental aberration.
The bit in bold is the key point. It shouldn't have to be belaboured so much, but most of the people in this thread don't get it at all. It's not about swatting flies or suchlike. It's about enjoying it, about making a ritual of it.

There's a difference between spiders and animals.
I could not kill an animal, Not a bird, fox, rat, mouse, rabbit, hedgehog, cat or dog.
I couldnt do it!
