Doom 2015

Any word on whether we get to visit earth in this one? Would love them to shoehorn in some Doom 2 style earth levels alongside the usual Phobos and Hell missions!

This is going to get panned almost as bad as Duke Nukem Forever, if those vids are anything to go by. The world has moved on, and it seems they've totally run out of ideas to reinvigorate the series. Every other kill being a QTE is not going to appeal to oldschool gamers either, unless you can turn them off (probably not).

Overall, I like the look of it, but in general with games development I would prefer to see less of the immersion breaking QTE (or equivalent). Of course, there's no way a big developer would construct the game like many of us would ideally like; that's what an indie / kick starter could do with a much, much smaller budget.

I think it looks absolutely fantastic. It's basically some Doom 3, with the pace of Unreal Tournament, with the Brutal Doom mod's stupidity thrown in.

I have been playing the Alpha MP and I'm not struck by the gameplay there, I think it needs some tweaks to things like movement speed and jump height, and to have the loadouts binned (seriously, loadouts in Doom?).

Would be nice considering the original concept of this game was hell on earth, then it got cancelled and remade from scratch.

I personally don't think there is much pace at all, not like UT.

The multiplayer didn't do anything for me, it was good to play it but it's the singleplayer campaign I'm looking forward to. Plus the mods, like a No Hud mod which I pray will surface, or just an ingame option but I highly doubt it as devs just love to force Huds upon us.

I can't wait for this, it looks like an old school shooter, all action, no forgiveness style fps.

Hope the single player campaign has a bit of the doom scary moments.

That is why this game needs to cater to modding IMO (which to a degree is something they are designing in).
