Doom Eternal

Was having all kinds of fps slowdowns with the 2016 Doom and sort of abandoned it. All the Dark Ages stuff got me to play around with it again. Looks like I had it set to OpenGL and not Vulcan, now I've sorted that out the game absolutely flies! Really enjoying it, it's keeping me off COD which is unheard of.

AMD or Nvidia GPU?

I really liked Eternal. I played it in HDR on my big Samsung Odessey Ultra Wide though and it looked stunning. I generally progressed quite quickly through it and just found it really fun overall. Some of the jump and grab stuff did get a bit tedious, but usually after a few repeats you get there fairly quick. The battles were super chaotic.
I didn't play Doom 2016 though.
I played Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3 I remember playing a bit but not completing it.
Should I go back and do 2016 first then The Dark Ages? :)

Story-wise (!), I don't think you need to - 2016 was great though (much better than Eternal in my opinion) so it's well worth a look regardless, especially the bits where you stumble across old-Doom corridors.
