This was never about classic Doom. This game is about carving a new path for the franchise. DOOM 16 got everyone on board and now they want to take it further.They clearly didnt once look at classic doom to see what made it tick because none of those elements are there. I enjoyed 2016 but this is yet another step further removed from "doom". It's a shadow of its former self now. What with the platforming and cutscenes and home "base". Doom should be 100% RUN N GUN. There is so little of that in this game, it's all coreographed for you.

Yes its absolutely a quake/doom hybrid...that was clear from the first trailers.
The OG Dooms still exist...and the recent ports of all 4 games on modern platforms are lovingly made.
Playing on "Hurt me plenty" and that 1st slayer gate cost me several extra lives.
They really throw everything at you.
It's good fun but it's not a DOOM game for me, just too much platforming and puzzle solving. Not enjoying it as much as the last one so far
