Dota 2 - Steam

Hmmmmm don't blame it on the community but on the freaking retarded match making algorithm behind it. Valve fails in it big time.

I don't personally know you players, but Dota takes a lot of time to learn. You should have at least 2-3 years experience to be an average player.

If anybody wants a few good teamwork games join me, but at least have average experience.

I would love to play this game, But I dont have beta access yet :(

I dont understand why its so bad though, LoL is bad enough with players thinking that they are all mighty and are perfect.

I would still play this game but only with others who I know wont take a fit and are willing to help others.

Is there not people you from OCuk you could team up with.

I tend to skype with my brother and only get let down by 1 player at a time, but still that could have a huge impact to the game.

Solutions to playing with bads:

#1 Get better - It's easily possible to carry yourself out of a low rating. The other team most probably has horrible players as well, but their 'decent' players are covering for them better than you are covering the terribles on your team. This isn't always the case obviously, sometimes you are screwed from the start (but leaving is not the solution!).

#2 Get friends - You will still lose a lot of games but at least you will be able to talk about your losses and work out where you went wrong.

I've actually given up now. I had 7 epic loses in a row yesterday and the people who I reported also reported me because it puts you in a low priority pool when reported regardless of if you have done anything so they knew it was me the moment I did it and they all reported me back.

Now I am in a 15 day low priority pool because of the following:

1) Only SIX abandoned games that were hopeless over the last couple of weeks, 2 of which I abandoned because of my team openly stating they were going to feed because they didn't get their own way.

2) Reporting a guy (who I presume has counter reported me) with a lich (support character) saying, and I quote, "Mid or I feed"

3) Reporting 3 russians in a game for instantly telling me to quit because they all have a lot more wins than me and kept standing in front of me. I went through half the game just to prove to them that I was, in fact, by far the best player on my team as the only person with a possitive k-d and only 4 deaths total compared to their about 30 between them. I then quit and got an abandoned. I presume they all reported me as well because I reported them.

4) Reporting another guy who went afk for the first 5 minutes and then went to feed their carry the entire game because he didn't want to be in our game and didn't want the abandon for leaving. USELESS ABANDONED SYSTEM! I presume he reported me as well for reporting him.

5) Abandoning a game at the start because we had 4 carrys, 2 hard carrys and a riki refusing not to go mid with his boots. Massive noob game that I just rage quit from quite frankly.

I can't be bothered in playing with this community any more. I shall wait till some of my friends can get into it so I can just play with them. Not playing pubs any more. Moronic abandoned system coupled with a completely unadmined report system that punishes anyone who gets reported regardless and makes it painfully obvious who reported you.

So many know it all noobs. I had someone arguing with me yesterday stating that the guy who was playing our SK was a massive noob because he was epi -> blink -> stun instead of blinking in and then eping and then stunning. WHO SAYS THAT? Everyone knows that you epi and then blink in. Worst of all was his arguing and everyone was a noob who didn't agree with him. He wasn't even trolling.

So you haven't played this game then? The leveling system hasn't been put into the game yet. Everyone is level 1 and from what I've seen it isn't done on wins as I frequently see people with 300+wins put in with those with under 50 wins. Though quite frankly, I have met many people with 300+ wins who were massive noobs anyway. They must have just been in the beta from earlier on. Having come in just a couple of weeks ago, it is pretty hard for me to out level noobs when constantly surrounded by them.

Won't be a problem when the game goes live but currently in beta it's not so easy. A lot of the people I see in games are russians who refuse to even talk to you.

I've yet to be in a game with anyone who denys but me. Then they all go "OMG AM IS MASSIVE, YOU NOOBS ALL FED HIM". Then you look at the kills and AM doesn't have a single kill. They fail to understand the fact that if you do not deny creeps the enemy will get twice as much experience and a lot more gold than they should have.

Now I'm not the best at denying but every game I see zero denys on everyone but me. You know I played AA for the first time yesterday and I had the second highest kills in the game and my team lost and I was playing support. My team was that dire that they would all quickly die and be unable to kill anything. I certainly wasn't playing spectacularly with AA.

I've been in the beta a long time. Level != rating. 3000000000 wins != a good player either.

I think I have ~150 wins or so yet when I play I mostly get matched with decent/good players on both teams - I can't remember the last game I had where no one bought wards/courier at all. The matchmaking system can/will be improved though for sure.

You can check your approximate rating by searching for recent games with your name and changing the skill dropdown.

I shall have to check that out when I bother to get on the game. My rating is probably dire because I can't get a good team tbh. That same AA game I just spoke about there was a witch doctor who randomed so he had 850 gold and refused to by wards or a courier so I had to buy both.

I think on release there should be teams made up on here, 1 for the noobs/players who dont mind teaching and teams that play well.

Sounds like a plan, I wouldn't be adverse to helping people who actually can take criticism because there are a lot of things you will do wrong when you play for the first time and you need someone to tell you to stop.

Yes I think that should be a thing we should get together. Or teams full of noobs to learn the game, and dont mind loosing getting massive amounts of losses, just so they all know everyone else they are playing with are in the same boat. The games can be watched too cant they? If so give details so people can comment on what they think people are doing wrong.

I think we could get a small community with ourselfs so that it could make the game more enjoyable.

There will be many others who visit this thread which contribute, mayby guides and things :)

Get your crazy talk out of here lol XD

If it took someone 2-3 years then they must be 40+ and play 1 game a day and not pay attention if that.

I'd agree with you. I haven't spent that long and I would argue that I do better than most the players I meet on dota 2. Maybe that's because I am just surrounded by idiots every time I play though .

Your ability in dota 2 comes down to your mentality and general ability to learn games quickly in my opinion. It's not like it takes long to learn to stall your animation to last hit properly but you either have the mentality of knowing when to deny and last hit or you don't. Most people I've seen don't.

Is there a way to make private matches? or would that be pointless with the scoring system. With people just spamming matches to get the score up.

Private matches likely won't increase your rank. The private match system is pretty good from what i've seen, you can even use bots so you don't need a full team if you just want to practice on your own. The captain version is the best where captains choose to ban out heroes and pick in turns. If you haven't seen it you should check out a join dota shoutcast and see it in action.

You can join up as a party and join games together however, so joining as a team of 5 shouldn't be a problem.

Whoa there, levels don't work but the rating system is all in the background. You used to be able to see it.

I've not played for a couple of weeks due to holiday, but I'll be getting back into it soon.

Well I've seen my skill levels on the heroes but not seen this one. I shall have to check it out. I'm making my way to maxing out my OD and brood skill bars it seems so I doubt they mean much.

I mean getting 2 teams of 5, to go up against eachother lol

Tis possible if you don't mind it not being ranked. At least I'm assuming it's not ranked as I don't see why it would be.

I just thought it would be good to get players who dont know how to play/not that good. Put them all in 1 match up against eachother for practice things like that.

Mind I am saying that I havent even got into the beta...or how long this would be before its released.
