The new UI update is horrible :(

Do the steam keys that get sent out give 2 for friends still? I have 2 mates who want in but the odds of them both getting an invite is tiny :p

No they don't. They stopped that due to people selling them.
 
New hero picking is gash, dashboard is nice, unused space but got everything I need on the screen without it looking cluttered.

People should join the OcUK chat channel so we can play with each other :p
 
Just set it to grid view on the pick screen, more or less the same.

Would be nice to get some 5 man teams regurally, some of the random people you get matched with some times make me question humanity :p

On another note, the new ui takes a bit getting used too. Seems like it makes things worse than better. At least initially. I like the new hero Oger Mage. Funny British accent as one head talks to the other. Also nice to get kills on heroes low on hp.

Did not know we had a chanel. Will look for it the next time I am there. Can't stand some of the Russians.all you ever hear when things not going right is bla bla bla, sucka! Bla bla bla sucka! Though I have also come across some jerks on the US servers too. It's like some of them waiting to pounce on you. Lol.
 
Anyone willing to team up with me and mjones casually? We play 1-3 games a day on average and would be nice if any half decent players wanted to play with us regularly, most games are pretty terrible due to players leaving early or being poor team players.
 
Pretty new to dota but getting on ok prefer it to hon

played mainly as wind runner would gladly play with others though.

I'd be willing to play, no over all stats to show how decent I am 120 wins, can't seem to view losses anymore but it'd be around 105/110 :p.

Add me anyways, Purdy8, play most nights maybe bar tuesday and wednesday.

Game's in a very open Beta, I got in when there were still a couple of hundred people online and keys were like golddust but now there are 50000 online :D You can sign up for the beta at www.dota2.com, I don't really know what's happening with invites but given the number of people playing they must either be sending them out to just about everyone who applies to the beta or they are available through other websites, although I can't help you there.

You'll keep everything you earn in-game or buy from the store as it'll transition from open beta to release as a F2P title pretty seamlessly. The payment model is the same as TF2's.

The point of that pack is the large number of appearance items which I guess is a slight discount over buying them all separately, not that I'd ever buy stuff like that in a game personally. I think the invite is just a sweetener, because as I say invites seem to be pretty freely available.

I hope that cleared it up.

It certainly feels released, although as far as I'm aware (really havn't been keeping up to date on this sort of stuff) you can't just download it freely off of steam store without an invite of some kind so I'd say it's not released.
 
Seems that they are releasing updates almost every other day now so it's not fully finished and there are still things that need to be implemented but I would happily say a July release.

Also, you can get into beta for £25. People in the beta can buy invites and send them to their friends.
 
There's still at least 30 heroes missing, nevermind tons of other stuff that needs to be completed. I'd be surprised if they released by the end of the year.
