Needs some opinions please!
Any body used Magicool before? and more to the point G2 Slim series?
I've heard that EKWBs SE rads had a bad rep about them with performance but was stuck with a radiator of under 30mm last minute due to experimenting with Jonsbo UMX4 to see what would work and what wouldn't. I knew when 30mm rads wouldn't fit, EK came to my head first, so got it as I needed the system up and running. See reports its a good 30-50watts (360 versions at least ) down with its slim rad competitors such as Alphacools 30mm and Magicools 27mm , couldn't help but think a change would be needed.
My basket at Overclockers UK:
I've read that XSPC EX 240 is actually 27.5mm thick and not 35mm thick stated on their website. Guessing againt could be another contender and has same price tag as the SE
Just got my second Rad fan replaced last night, so had been running the system with 1 High speed 2200rpm Silent wing 3 at full speed ! Luckily due to having Silent wing 3 fans at the bottom and rear all intaking, the sheer about of positive pressure was forcing air out the case at a greater rate then the single working fan could put out..... great for allowing me to fun the loop when gaming on one fan but doesn't fill me with confidence when a second fan is working.
Running Firestrike on a loop had Water temp at 32c, GPU at 50c and CPU at 60c . Strix was running 2155mhz and i5 7600k @5Ghz with 1.3v
@ Idle temps are 35c for the GPU and 30c for the CPU, with water at 25c with room temp around 18-20c .
will test rig again with 2nd fan at full whack and at a silent profile, normally 1200rpm it quiet enough . Just wondering if a change in Rad will get me to the magic 28c or lower water temps when stressed. Fans can't really get any better for static pressure/sound and air flow.
Will admit silent loop pump isn't the strongest but will be replaced for a DDC but still doesn't take away reviews of the SE series that used d5/ddc pumps in testing.
