Trivium again??? That would make it 3 years in a row theyve played Download. What is this the Triviumfest? Im just getting so sick of having them rammed down my throat as the "saviours" of metal everywhere I look. I mean they're all right, but geez, they're nothing special!

only band there id want to see is dream theatre

EDIT>>Due to new roster
id like to see
Linkin Park
Manson
VR
Wolfmother
Evanescence

I believe Heaven and Hell are very strongly rumoured too.

they're playing monsters of rock. already self confirmed that.

Aerosmith are a big contender for download apparently - i know they're doing a european festivals tour in june so its a goodun!

The Headliners will be:

My Chemical Romance (I kid you not)
Linkin Park
Iron Maiden

This information comes from Neil over on www.e-festivals.co.uk and he is spot on 99% of the time for headliners, often months in advance.

Can't wait till MCR come on stage infront of the Download Hardcore.. even the announcment "if true" will cause uproar on their forums etc, just you wait.

I'm still a bit sceptical but from such a source it seems to be true, seems like a silly mistake by Live Nation though.

If MCR do headline, then it's obvious what other bands will play that day. I'm sure the "Download Hardcore" as you put it, will miss out that day, or at least heckling will be kept to a minimum due to the probable content of the day and the type of fan who attend that particular day.

The majority of people their each day though will be weekend ticket holders.

I mean at Reading this year (ok last year now) MCR played 3rd from top and suffered a torrent of bottles and chants. People were saying that was too high a slot for them before the festival etc.

Now they are headlining at Download which is even less of their fanbase than Reading really.

That's not to say i hate them, i quite like a few of their songs, just not a fan of the band themselves.

As long as theirs a decent alternative on the 2nd stage/tent then problems will be kept to a minimum i'd imagine. I'll wait to see what the rest of the lineup is like before i decide, providing MCR are headlining and it isn't false of course.

I've got tickets to Reading anyway so i'm not too fussed, only headliner we know for that so far is that Razorlight are pretty much certain from various sources.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

MY Chemical Romance are the new limpbizkit or linkin park they will be headlining. Do you know any other band that commands the medias attention like they do? Do you? Do you? I think they are boring and crap. I want real british bands to be playing this year!

I heard Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne and Lost prophets for headliners over on e-festivals...

I hope lamb of god and machine head play.
I'm pretty sure machine head will, with their new album being due...

As for MCR, when they came out I was completely against them and all their sort of "emo crap" music.. but I gave them a chance, listened to them and read a few good interviews in various guitar magazines with the guitarists and I have a healthy respect for them now. Their new album is amazing, and before anyone starts thinking "ey up, emo boy!" hold that thought..

I was digging through a box of "old" cds under my bed last night, found my original copy of "Burn My Eyes" which hasn't seen the light of day for years.

Needless to say, the air was soon filled with some quality "LET FREEDOM RING WITH THE SHOTGUN BLAST!" :)

Aah, great days.. man, I'm showing my age now!

Hmm, if you ask my missus, band mates or look at my cd collection you will realise that is not strictly true ;) I like a lot of different music, including generic boring stuff to compliment the other extremes..

In terms of the rock/metal genre, it's my favourite music but I do dislike the ******** you get for liking a certain band.
Its rather boring. The minute a band is a little commercial, thats it, your flamed!
