Download Festival 2007

I would love to see linkin park as headliners, they are very good live. Much better than MCR, the only band that looks appealing to me off that list so far is Machine Head the rest are like meh.

I quite like some of their songs off the new album (MCR that is) I just can't abide their whole stance of "Everyone picks on us because we're emo" comments that they come out with in interviews every so often.

It's like they are trying to seperate themselves and make their fans feel ridiculed and different. Just strikes me that theirs no need at all.

I'd love to take you be SidewinderINC but as i said i'm not too confident on that myself, it's from Neil that runs E-Festivals and he seemed pretty confident. It's known that they were asked to play, but i doubted as headliners. He seems pretty sure that its true though.

Besides i'm a student, we don't have "spare cash" ;) Rather put it towards a ticket if the rest of the lineup is any good.

Be interesting to see if it was correct or not though!

i'm a final year student, got less than you ;)

but yeah, be interesting to see if he's right.

i'm more hopeful of Aerosmith myself :D

I'm still a 6th form student, no loan, no grants, no Ema.

Though i do work part time so i'm not actually skint.

This year would be my first download, got Reading tickets but considering a 2nd festival to see how they compare.

I have an A2 chemistry exam on the monday of glastonbury so thats out..

Will see what the download lineup is like, last year it looked pretty good and 2-3 of my friends went and said it was awesome apart from the heat.

I mean at Reading this year (ok last year now) MCR played 3rd from top and suffered a torrent of bottles and chants. People were saying that was too high a slot for them before the festival etc.

The main reason that happened was that they dared to be above Slayer on the bill... Though Slayer did nothing to earn their slot for that matter, worst I've ever seen them. I doubt they made one new fan. MCR put in a pretty shoddy set at Reading but they got away with it because the story was the bottling, not the music. Well played  There was nobody below them that could have played above them, in terms of popularity and crowd attraction really, the bottom half of the bill was shoddy. Always is on metal day.

Still, they're a fantastic band, people like to cry emo but they've got more in common with Thunder than most of the emo scene. Big daft **** rock. Shouldn't be headlining a festival, but Download's had more joke headliners than proper ones anyway. Tool FFS, when they played the Ozzfest they were about halfway up the bill. Feeder! Mid afternoon slot at Reading. Linkin Park... Audioslave! My word...

In terms of the rock/metal genre, it's my favourite music but I do dislike the ******** you get for liking a certain band.
Its rather boring. The minute a band is a little commercial, thats it, your flamed!

Dude i heard about MCR years ago and thought they were generic when i first heard them.

You're welcome to your opinion, addled as it is ;)

(just checking, you don't think that Three Cheers is the first album do you? Probably not, but an awful lot of people do)

Not too fussed about any of them tbh. Wouldn't mind seeing Godsmack, Soil, Taproot and Disturbed though. Doubt they'd be there though.

Ooohhh not bad. :D Will have to look into it. Although it may not be possible if I go to see Stevan Seagal. :D

I'd rather see Steven Seagal than that oaf Zakk Wylde ;)

no i dont think thats the first album, i know so many people that say they are the biggest fan and like both their albums... im like you **** :)

That line up would kill me! So many good bands, so little time!

Some rumours also going round about Rage Against the machine headlining one day. What with them reforming to headline Coachella, that would be so awesome if they played download, but as much as I would love them to play, I doubt they will. One can hope though.

Now I have to make £135 in 2 days :o

From download forums:
The announcement (of the 3 headliners) will be on Zane Lowe Radio One show after 6pm on 30th Jan.
