who has said that? anyone with any authority or just a rumour?
I'm pretty sure that was posted on good authority on the download forums, but I've not seen anything on the radio 1 website about it though.

As posted by a mod on the download forums said:

According to kerrang radio. Headlining are:

Linkin park
My Chemical Romance
Maiden

 :(

With fallout boy and evanescence being 2nd :/

meh only one worth seeing of the headliners is maiden, seen LP before and they where the suck.

It's not the headliners that cuts me- I like MCR, and Linkin Park have had their moments (In The End being a superb song... The triumphant return of pianos into american metal ;) )... It's the "special guests". Evanescence! I couldn't see them making second top on the second stage at Reading, myself.

They do this every year though, try and make a big noise with the headliners, and you're supposed to not notice that half of the supporting bill is drivel.

done, those 3 have been announced.. wonder if they're the actual headliners though... maiden will be.

bet you wish you'd taken that bet now ranek ;)

but i still fail to believe MCR will be headlining :(
thats not a general "diss" against MCR, ive actually given them a chance and been to see them.

Website says the first announcement's in 7 minutes, mind ;) I am prepared to bet a crisp pound note that it's the 3 headliners named above.

Already announced.

Heh indeed. It wasn't my information that discovered they were playing though as said. And it'd be unfair to deprive a poor student of his beer money!

And i admit i was still a little sceptical myself, enough to not want to waste £20 anyway.

But as usual Neil has come out tops.

Looks like it definitely is Razorlight for Reading Festival Friday night then..

they are the headliners, wtf lol..... iron maiden yes but the other two ?? why? i like mcr but dont think they should be headliner.... plus ill be seeing them in march so dont want them headlining

Apparantly it's:

FRIDAY

My Chemical Romance
Fall Out Boy

SATURDAY
Linkin Park
Evanesence

SUNDAY
Iron Maiden
Motley Crue

I really do feel for the Download fans actually that doesn't look very good at all.

I can see them selling lots of sunday day tickets to those that usually go for the whole weekend though.

Hah apparantly someone mis-heard and its still the same headliners but they said that.

"Motley Crue are to be headlining the tent on the Saturday.

Slayer, Megadeth, Evanesence, Fall Out Boy, Wolfmother and Marilyn Manson are all also making an appearance"

So the FOB, Evanesence and Motley Crue aren't neccesarily the 2nd headliners.
