That’s not really a sensible solution for everyone though, I live about 180 miles away, bit of a trek just to avoid couriers!
Sometimes I buy stuff I don't even want just so they can deliver to me.
Same as myself. Often £15+ to deliver to Northern Ireland. I deal with courier companies to ship in excess of 50 parcels a day from here to mainland gb and know that is not what it costs.DPD are just crap up here. No next day delivery, never had a time slot and no free delivery from the three retailers I used to get it with (OCUK included) since they swapped to DPD. Shocking surcharges with some retailers that use DPD as well. I pretty much avoid anyone that only has DPD as a courier these days.

If it was Yodel, the driver would have delivered a stretch arm strong broken then stolen it straight out of your hands before taking your mother out for a nice seafood dinner and never calling her again.
